| You can't see it (my network status bar is covering it up), but it does say where it came from: Digital Blasphemy.
Got to the following url for various sized images for backgrounds, all 3-D art generated on computers:

Not all of them are free, but he keeps a free section open where you can download that background image as well as several others that are very good.
