I don't know about you...but that saves the file to RAM:
I don't see it giving me any choice.
Whereas:
Name: getVideo Action: Command [c:getvideo] [%l]
Gives me a menu asking me what I would like to do with the file.
Confirm?

Dont have time at the moment to try, But from the GetVideo Docs :
4. Usage: getVideo "url" "action" "download directory"
Example: getVideo "http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=xxxxxx" save ram: This will download the FLV file to ram disk.
Actions: ask - ask if you want save, play or saveplay save - save file to download directory play - gives the FLV URL to mplayer for this option the filetype is set to flv saveplay - save file to download directory and try to play the file using mplayer
Config: please look inside the getVideo.cfg file for instructions
5. Setup for OWB MorphOS * go to Settings Menu -> Preferences... -> Contextual Menus * click on 'Add' and edit this new menu entry to Category: Link Name: getVideo Action: c:getvideo "%l" save ram:
* click on 'Add' and edit this new menu entry to Category: Page Name: getVideo Action: c:getvideo "%u" save ram:
6. Setup for IBrowse: * go to Settings -> GUI -> FAB Menus
* Open 'Link' and add a Custom menu entry * Edit Custom menu entry to Name: getVideo Action: Command [c:getvideo] [%l save ram:]
* Open 'Imagelink' and add a Custom menu entry * Edit Custom menu entry to Name: getVideo Action: Command [c:getvideo] [%l save ram:]
* Open 'Page' and add a Custom menu entry * Edit Custom menu entry to Name: getVideo Action: Command [c:getvideo] [%u save ram:]
* Open 'Plugin File' and add a Custom menu entry * Edit Custom menu entry to Name: getVideo Action: Command [c:getvideo] [%e save ram:]

I've read all those docs.
What I'm saying is that just removing the save part gives me a panel that asks what I want to do with the file. After that I get to choose the filetype as well.
I'll try "ask", but I don't see what else I could be asked. heh.
Added: "ASK" is the same for me as entering nothing after "%l"

The downlaod directory seems to fixed to what you specify or defaults to the one the script was called from if none specified ( In this case the Mui-OWB directory) . Last edited by Spectre660 on 21-Aug-2012 at 12:27 AM.

Doing some testing on all models in irc.
I'll post the results when we know.
I'm trying (like post #6) for a one size fits all direction solution.

Ok.Will stay tuned .
Right now I am testing out a new video card (Radeon HD 6770) and a nice little USB hub with on and off switch on My Sam 440ep flex. My Keyboard,Mouse and Joystick are all connect to the hub.Things feel fast. May be the lower Screen resolution of 1440x900 as well. _________________ Sam460ex : Radeon Rx550 Single slot Video Card : SIL3112 SATA card |

| What we really need now is for someone to chime in and post exactly what entries to make in FAB menus (Ibrowse) to do this |
In mui-owb prefs Contextual Menus:
To play a URL link: add Category=Link Label=getvideo - play URL Action=C:getvideo "%l PLAY"
To play an image: add Category=Image Label=getvideo - play image Action=C:getvideo "%l PLAY"
You should be able to play YouTube vids by right clicking either the URL or the image. _________________ Hate tends to make you look stupid... |

If you followed the instruction in post #6, everything should be working for Clipdown and getVideo.
I've heard in irc and PM that this indeed works.
Now we are going to make one simple change to our script, which will allow use of muimplayer standalone, as well as -maintaining- the working state of Clipdown and getVideo.
This assumes you have downloaded the archive to your H/D: http://os4depot.net/index.php?function=showfile&file=video/play/muimplayer.lha
Unarchive this archive and copy the entire contents anywhere you want. For purpose of the script we are altering, let's say you installed it in WORK:Programs. That makes the path for this example WORK:Programs/MPlayer
Start Notepad and load the file getVideo.cfg from SYS:prefs/Env-Archive
Assuming you followed the directions in post #6, Row 54 should show: play_stream = 'mplayer -vo cgx_wpa >nil: -cache 4096 -cachenetwork "%S" -quiet'
If your hardware requires the generic version of muimplayer change this to: play_stream = 'WORK:Programs/mplayer/generic/mplayer -vo cgx_wpa >nil: -cache 4096 -cachenetwork "%S" -quiet'
If you use the altivec version of muimplayer change this to: play_stream = 'WORK:Programs/mplayer/altivec/mplayer -vo cgx_wpa >nil: -cache 4096 -cachenetwork "%S" -quiet'
Resave the file to the same name and place. Remember the path above is an example. Change it to your actual path.
IMPORTANT reminder if you want muimplayer to behave standalone as it does in the script: Use muimplayer prefs to change the video driver to cgx_wpa.
As in the previous example, please report any errors.

Enabling the gui wouln't hurt either. Cachenetwork option is obsolete, and quiet option is redundant when using gui mode. So, for instance:
play_stream = 'WORK:Programs/mplayer/altivec/mplayer -gui 1 -vo cgx_wpa "%S" *>nil: ' Last edited by Fab on 21-Aug-2012 at 03:30 PM.

Thank you.
I'll make some edits after I get a bit more input from anyone willing to test.

Works on a Sam Flex. Mui-Mplayer stays open after the video plays and multiple instance are started with each new video selection if not closed each time. _________________ Sam460ex : Radeon Rx550 Single slot Video Card : SIL3112 SATA card |

Of course it stays open, that's the expected behaviour of the GUI mode. But it can be changed: just select menu -> control -> repeat -> "exit after playlist end" and save with menu -> settings -> save. And there, MPlayer will quit after the last title of the playlist is played. Last edited by Fab on 21-Aug-2012 at 06:57 PM.

| Just leaving a note here to say the thread has been an informative one. Thanks to the advice here I now have contextual menu slections in MUIOWB to allow playing or saving of YouTube videos. Thanks, guys. _________________

Assuming you have followed the directions for installation of getvideo and muimplayer in this thread, here are some simple instructions for configuration through IBrowse OEM 2.4 68020 version. Please report if there is an issue with any other version. If the directions seem too detailed, please remember we have some new users who might require the detail. I've put terms in CAPS, due to the possibility of people accidentally typing quote marks.
Configuration of FAB menus in IBrowse to use utube __________________________________________________
(01)Open IBrowse/Preferences/Settings (02)Click on GUI at left (03)Click on FAB menus (04)Click on LINK in right panel to open up the menu (05)Hold down mouse button over CUSTOM in the left panel, drag it to the right panel underneath Copy URL to clipboard and release mouse button to place it there. If you miss your drop point, simply pick it up again and move it (06)At bottom next to NAME enter PLAY-getVideo (07)Toggle the action gadget to COMMAND and use the file selector at right to choose SYS:c/getVideo (08)Move to the right arrow gadget pulldown menu and select Link URL. Add a space and then type PLAY.
Your entries in order should read: PLAY-getVideo - SYS:C/getVideo - %l PLAY
(09)Hold down mouse button over CUSTOM in the left panel, drag it to the right panel underneath PLAY-getVideo and release mouse button to place it there. If you miss your drop point, simply pick it up again and move it (10)At bottom next to NAME enter SAVE-getVideo (11)Toggle the action gadget to COMMAND and use the file selector at right to choose SYS:c/getVideo (12)Move to the right arrow gadget pulldown menu and select Link URL. Add a space and then type SAVE. Add a space and then add your save path. (Examples: RAM: - WORK:Data/) Note that you must add the "/" when not saving in a root directory.
Your entries in order should read: PLAY-getVideo - SYS:C/getVideo - %l SAVE [PATH]
Click OK and then save your IBrowse settings in IBrowse/Preferences. If you want to keep your original settings as well then SAVE AS and give your IBrowse settings a new name like FAB_utube.prefs.
Go to Google/Video and type Utube. (1)Hover over a utube link and hold down right mouse button (2)From the menu which appears you should be able to select either PLAY-getVideo or SAVE-getVideo. (3)Release the button over your choice and within a second or two you will get the complete codec choice offered for viewing or download.
