I've not seen that editor before.
@ djnick
Unfortunatly there is no official editor (the one cha05e90 linked to may work,)
You have to edit the text file found at
ENVARC:ContextMenus.cfg
Which is a pain I admit. Hopefully there will be an official editor in the future.
Lines like so:
Disk,Open in Filer,CLI,SYS:Utilities/Filer/Filer %f
need to be added.
The above adds a file option to a disk icon.
To Create a root filer when right clicking on the WB (shows volumes list)
Workbench,Filer,CLI,sys:utilities/filer/filer
Directory,Open in Filer,CLI,sys:utilities/filer/filer %f
etc.etc

Oh, it WILL work. Nice, fast, transparent. And - just for the record - I really don't understand why this is *not* part of OS (or at least a contribution).

Sigh. So CentaurZ might do an update of the editor or I'll quit the forthcoming ContextMenu update... If CMEditor would have been part of the OS distribution then...ah, never mind _________________ X1000|II/G4|440ep|2000/060|2000/040|1000 |

If you drag n drop, it will move.
If you hold down shift and drag n drop, it will only copy.
If you select "Reverse Drag and Drop" in Prefs/Miscellaneous, this behaviour will be reversed (drag n drop = copy, shift d&d = move)
This is irrespective of different volumes, etc._________________ --------------- AmigaOne X5000 P5020 2Ghz, OS 4.1 AmigaOne XE G4 800mhz, OS 4.1 A1200T 40Mhz 68040, OS 3.9 |

Thank you guys. I've just unpacked CMEditor. I will see how it works, just to reboot.
Well I don`t like why simple user needs to do so many "coding" things instead program to create everything by itself.
I've just seen iOS7 features. It almost cooks instead you :D _________________ nykk | deetronic.rs | youtube.com/djnykk | gfx.river | mamavolibebu.com |

| Ohh damn... This is more than strange :(
I've saved in s:user-startup this command line at the end:
Run >NIL: Sys:Prefs/AllKeys/AllKeys
and it does not execute when system boots and also - AllKeys aren't started.
But when I copy/paste to Shell this command line - it starts Allkeys... I just see it from Exchange commodity that it starts then. What on Earth and Why it does not start from User-startup file?!?!?!? _________________ nykk | deetronic.rs | youtube.com/djnykk | gfx.river | mamavolibebu.com |

iOS7 is for fools with too much money whereas AmigaOS is for Computer enthusiatics with too much time.
Whilst iOS probably has 'more features' and might be more 'user freindly' I'd bet it's only user friendly in so far as the user agrees to do things exactly the way the Mr Jobs ghost wants you to do them. AmigaOS is much more flexible but to take advantage of that flexibilty requires alittle more work. I think many of us would agree that the default setup of AmigaOS lacks something, but few of us would agree on what the optimal setup should be, we'd each have our own favourite combinations of programs to acheive our own tasks.
CMEditor should make life a little easier though in terms of context menus.

Oh I didn`t know about WBStartUp existance especially it is in RightClick! Yes - this is very very useful! And yes - now it works!!! :)
About Context menus - Wouldn't be more easier not to have Context Editor but to have Open With and drag and drop what you want? Thats why I like Win7 - because OpenWith, Doubleclick to FullScreenWindow and Snap Any Window to left or right edges - this makes very easy to have 2 listers for quick compare, copy, paste etc... or put 2 programs together one next to another.
And my opinion about today's Amigas: Great potential but too much space for real work. I really love Amiga when it is configured. And I am sure other users would think the same and will make return to platform. Also I think it is for rich people with lots of free time ;)
p.s. so what would be command to put Delete key to do simple Delete... RightAmiga + D is way too far to click... Last edited by djnick on 13-Jun-2013 at 11:19 PM. Last edited by djnick on 13-Jun-2013 at 11:05 PM.

WBStartup is where you would start quite a few things of use for example ClickToFront and other commodities.
I just gave allkeys a try and have to say it falls in the horrible hack catagory for me, mainly because it breaks all the "rules" for commodities. It's also completely unessessary for what you are trying to acheive. Workbench allready supports defining custom keystrokes via it's arexx interface. More on that in a sec...

The way application are organised in AmigaOS would make OpenWith more difficult to setup, and it not needed anyway.

Don't understand what you mean by that. Surely the more space you have the more you can do?

RAmiga -D is quite comfortable for my hands, thumb on RAmiga little finger on D though I raely use that key combo.
The following short ARexx script will setup the CTRL ESC combintaion for closing windows and the dangeropusly easy DELETE for deleteing. ------
/* Set some useful keys shortcuts */ Options Results Options FAILAT 20
ADDRESS WORKBENCH
'KEYBOARD REMOVE NAME "closewin" ' 'KEYBOARD ADD NAME "closewin" KEY "ctrl esc" CMD "WINDOW ACTIVE CLOSE"' 'KEYBOARD REMOVE NAME "delete"' 'KEYBOARD ADD NAME "delete" KEY "delete" CMD "MENU INVOKE ICONS.DELETE"'
-----
Copy the code between the dashes (but not including them) into Notepad and save as
S:Arexx/keys.rexx
Give it an icon then drop that icon into WBStartup.
To give it an icon just open the folder in workbench, choose show all files, left click the def icon then snapshot it. This will save a real icon to disk. If you deficons is setup correctly it will allready be set to start from rexx.
BTW the above uses the 'delete' key not the 'backspace' key.
[edit]
When I rebooted to test the above I realised I'd missed acouple of important steps.
Once you dropped the icon into WBStartup, select line that appears and click on the information button.
Goto the file tab: Then tick the script button in the protection: section. Then goto the icon tab: Untick the Prompt for input button. Untixck the Wait Until Finished button. Then click save.

Great help!!! Thank you very very much :))
Well as always - I searched for the shortest cut to set Delete to work so I cloned 1st line in commodity, added your command "MENU INVOKE ICONS.DELETE" instead my [normally, non working command] "DELETE", saved and - Delete works!!! :)
Would be perfect if all those "standardized" commands / keystrokes etc will be implemented into system and preconfigured so other [lazy?] users will enjoying into system from start. I prefer easy really easy, as much as possible easing user's experience. [Maybe it is my "defect" - as I work on UI designs for over 5 years for now for PC, Nokia, iOS and Android apps.
Also thank you very much for shift+click on gadget for full screen window! I would never figure out that!
NOW I am really starting to enjoy AmigaOS. It is pity it took me over a year to configure [lack of time, baby]... :)
Also I wish there is 3D support so I could finally watch Youtube [and try some 3D games] here.
I for example would enjoy Amiga more than Android tablet [I would actually never use it] just would need a driver that could allow me to watch videos [and moves, for example].
It is interesting - what I was searching on Google: phrases like
"Delete for Arexx Amiga" - nothing. "Configure AllKeys Amiga Delete" - nothing. And finally I have found something that would interest me - I clicked and - got my question listed on Google :S
What would be great if there will be FAQ about AmigaOS - How To and put it online. You know, even I used to be really HC Amigan, I totally forgot everything :( Also back in 1997 - I was using only DOpusMagellan instead AmigaOS [and hard configured it].
I think I will sell my A1200 towered [with BPPC, 060, 256 RAM, Prelude sound card and preconfigured HD] - pity that my old system can't go online [even it is perfectly set up].
Now SAM is more usable. Just to make PageStream work [and print] and it will be useable again.
Thank you Broad again. I will probably have more questions soon ;) _________________ nykk | deetronic.rs | youtube.com/djnykk | gfx.river | mamavolibebu.com |

One more important [to me] question:
- When I delete something - it is lost forever? Not? On PC there is trashcan. Is there somewhere a Trashcan that keeps files like on PC [or similar] and Empty [like Shift+Delete on PC]?
I remember back in 1997 on my Amiga there is some file system that had command
..deldir
I type in DopusMagellan's lister [where address bar is], and it listes last 20 deleted files. It was damn useful. _________________ nykk | deetronic.rs | youtube.com/djnykk | gfx.river | mamavolibebu.com |

if you use ffs2 then delete is delete.
if you use sfs sf2 and jxfs then there is a hidden directory called .recycled deleted files may be found here. Also overwriten files. But only for a short time. So if for instance your have browser storing and deleteing many cookies of cache files on that partition, your deleted file might get truly deleted very quickly. Also very large files are more likely to just be deleted.

Aha I see. So how can I view which file system is my system? I've type Info in Shell - nothing about file system...
Other than that - is there a way I can display real size of my RAM somehow in Workbench? Back in 1997 I had display how my RAM: is empty [in %] and how it is used [like any partition]. Currently I can see 100% full, 0% free when open RAM window. _________________ nykk | deetronic.rs | youtube.com/djnykk | gfx.river | mamavolibebu.com |

Select the volumes icon and choose the Icons -> information menu item.
Or Context menu information item
Both bring up the disk variant of the icon information window and this lists the filesystem. Well it does if you have RAWBInfo running which should be started from WBStartup by default.

The Ram Disk is always 100% full as it's size varies to fit it's contents.
If your 3.x workbench showed a % fullness it must have had some patch running and I don;t know of any equivalent for AmigaOS 4.1
However you can set the Workbench Title string to show the current amount of "free" ram. If you have a swap partition enabled this number is not 100% reliable, but gives a guide.
In Prefs/Workbench add %mvk to the title string to show theamount of free memeory in Kb.
the 'insert' popup gives you easy control over insert different control strings for lots of different info you might like to display in the Workbench screen title.

Thanks. Well I've already set it up to display like this:
AmigaOS %r | %c | %mftmMB Mem | %g%mm
and this way I can see the most I am interested for. Unfortunatelly adding %mvk does not affect Ram: it just shows 100% full, 0B free, 32KB in use [or I would need to reboot?].
Anyway, will try to find tool that will display it to me.
Other than that - I was using [in past] excellent commodity [or was it a NIL> something string from UserStartup] - excellent Date and Clock that was always standing on each top of the screens, aligned to right of the WB bar. I do really miss that small date and clock set by default on Amiga. I use DateTime commodity, looks more or less ok.
About my file system: Info on Sys: shows: SmartFileSystem 1.290 (SFS\02). Does it means it do not have Undelete / Delete history? Last edited by djnick on 15-Jun-2013 at 12:34 AM.
