Onboard sound is work nicely, I don't know if you're going to get a soundcard whit your order, ask AmigaKIT, you don't need one.
The second PCI slot is taken up by a networks card that is hot glued, you only really need one networks card; so you have ether use first PCI slot possibly remove soundcard (it's just a sheap soundcard that works great), or use second PCI slot and remove network card.
You can also get PCI to PCIe adapters, there is one model supported I believe, ACube wrote the driver for it.

Since I will be first time AmigaKit customer, I am justed interested in general info by any past cutsomer: are prices initially shown on AmigaKit website including VAT (and how much - what is UK or general EU VAT rate?).
Major point is that I am out of EU, so I will have to be excluded on VAT when shipping, and pay it again alongside custom fees on import. But I do need to know do I calculate near 3 000 euros price+shippment+import costs or 3000 euros-VAT + shippment+import costs. In this case it can make up to 600 euros difference. Thanks. _________________ OS 3.x AROS and MOS supporter, fi di good, nothing fi di unprofessionalism. Learn it harder way! SinclairQL and WII U lover :D YT http://www.youtube.com/user/rasvoja |

Lucky you, mine is still assembled.

I believe first step is to register at A-EON website http://www.a-eon.com/
Once you have an AmigaOS Serial num. surely you should register at Hyperion as well http://hyperion-entertainment.biz/index.php?option=com_registration&view=default&Itemid=62

One from the card, that is one driver left to be done.Last edited by vox on 24-Jul-2013 at 09:00 PM.

I believe they give your number to ssolie & he sends it to you to keep track. You then register it with Hyperion.

On-board ethernet isn't working with os4 yet, but is working with linux,so connect to the card._________________ Hate tends to make you look stupid... |

| Ahem, here comes the noob questions...
I've just bought a new LG TV/monitor. I plug it to the X1000 with an HDMI cable. The monitor is telling me there is no signal on the HDMI port (?)
I tried to switch off the X1000. I pushed the power button, but the red power LED remain lit. I don't know what is happening as I don't see any image at all (yet).
Note: I've received the mail from Steven Solie. |

That's it ! I had switched on the monitor AFTER the X1000.
Ctrl-A-A has not helped, but I discovered that keeping the power button pressed for a few seconds force a power-down.
Seeing the Workbench 4.1 now. Going to explore...
Thanks. |

regarding hdmi, try connecting the computer and monitor by HDMI before powering either one up.They exchange some information about capabilities when starting up.
regarding power down, you must press and HOLD the power button for about four seconds to power down. The red light under the button will turn OFF when power goes down.
There are software programs that will "hold" the button for you, I think. I don't use one myself, as I'm really not interested in turning the X1000 off. ;) _________________ question=(2b||!(2b)) |

| Now about Internet...
I'm a bit confused about how to configure it from the prefs. I would like the X1000 to have a fixed IP address: 192.168.1.2. - Done (modified in Interface) Gateway: 192.168.1.1 (my Linksys router). - Where to set this ? Domain name serveurs should be given by the router.

Open prefs and there you will change your Lan Parameters, plus go in your routher and set the MAC address IP reserved _________________

It works if I select DHCP, but not if I set a fixed IP. I don't think the TCP stack automatically assume the 192.168.1.1 address as gateway and get domain name servers. I have to specify them somewhere, no ?

Ha yes, I have to do this too. But, ahem, how can I get the MAC address of the ethernet board ? [edit] Er, no. I don't have to add the MAC address to the filter list as the X1000 is cable wired. (BTW, I got the MAC address from an error message.)Last edited by AmigaPhil on 26-Jul-2013 at 07:46 PM.

Got it now, but I don't need it right now.
Also, I was checking in prefs/internet instead of the /internet tools. The config wizard is what I was looking for, but still, it doesn't work; It gave me a Sana-II error 10..., and even a DSI/grimreaper. |
