@KimmoK

I got the following from an internal source (i can't tell his name), but they give the permissions to put this info in a forum.

Q: Is Freescale dropping Power Architecture technology?

No, by no means!. Power Architecture technology is a performance workhorse in

networking and continues to be the leading architecture and a staple of the Freescale

networking portfolio. We will continue to enhance and refine this technology. Future

QorIQ processors based on the Layerscape architecture will leverage Power

Architecture technology as well. The Power Architecture e6500 64-bit core will be

among the highest-performance cores featured in the portfolio.

Note that we also recently announced new QorIQ T series devices based on Power
Architecture technology: the mid-tier T2s and entry-level T1s.

Q: Will you develop future Power Architecture technology-based cores for QorIQ platforms?

Freescale will continue to offer world-class solutions for the evolving demands of the

network. In this spirit, we continue to enhance and invest in Power Architecture

technologies to ensure we offer the best possible solutions for our customers.

@AmigaBlitter

Thank you for sharing.

It would be insanely cool to be in power.org "roundtable", participating in plans to maintain or grow PPC marketshare. Cheap PPC android tablets & netbooks & STBs could be one way.

+Q:
In T1xxx chips block diagrams one can see DIU unit, but I have not seen mention of it in other T1xxx specs. So, will T1xxx series have DisplayInterfacUnit?

+Q:
Does freescale have any plans in providing another netbook capable PPC chip? Perhaps vith OpenGL2.0 capable GPU core?

@amitv

I read (from amigans.net I think) that Timberwolf is being worked on again.
And it's being updated to latest Firefox version.

(sorry, no link)
