The script I have installed for UTube clips no longer works, they keep changing it, can anyone point me to the latest version that works?

I don't use that one (the JS), sorry.

Just checked using getvideo alone and it still works for what it supports.

Some of my YouTube videos are being offered in HTML5 (I think I can opt out but I haven't). Some modern PC browsers don't allow me to watch the videos (yet, presumably), and I have to switch. What chance has OS4.x users got of seeing these videos down the road? Just wondering from a longevity standpoint as its my understanding that YT will go totally HTML5 one day.

well we can watch them now with Timberwolf though very slowly until we get hardware acceleration going.

Unfortunately the OS4.1 version of OWB that Fab & kas1e were working on currently does not allow viewing of YouTube videos via HTML5.

You can find these scripts on Fabien Coeurjoly site, the author of the original MOS OWB. They are compatible with the AOS4 MUIOWB version.

I'm not near my amiga currently, but I use the YouTube EZ download script if I remember correctly. It puts a small box on the bottom right of the YouTube page with the links of the page content (flv, mp4).

Regards,
Pétrol.

I have that too but never used it, with YouTube.js you can watch videos streamed, no need to download, but it's broke as they keep changing things on YouTube...... dunno why!

The youtube.js script is still functional currently, else i would have fixed it. No idea why it doesn't work for you. Any particular link as example?

I have latest js file in Work:Internet/muiowb/Scripts

When I go to Windows menu in OWB and go to Scripts... I have two YouTube HTML5 Converter listed, is this correct?

Is there anywhere else I need to go to set it up correctly?

Well, where did you download this script from? And you should only have one script listed in the scripts manager window. No need to add it twice.

With the YouTube EZDownload script, you don't have to download the video as you have already set owb to play mp4 files through Mplayer.
A click on the mp4 link and MPlayer plays the video directly.
Give it try, it works for me unlike the other one.

Regards,
Petrol.

With Youtube.js you don't have to download it either. Anyway, i'm not able to test recent scripts with OS4. So maybe it works, or maybe it doesn't. Maybe it fails because HTML5 video element can't be added unlike the MorphOS version, who knows. You can check what happens in messages window.

From Petrols link

I don't know why I have two scripts, can you give me a link to a script that works currently and explain how to install and set up correctly?

@sicky

If everything else fails, with TimberWolf you also have the option of installing the FlashGot add-on to download videos which you can start playing with mplayer even while it's still downloading.

That's the correct version. So check what the messages window says.
And just in case, remove your 2 entries from scripts window, and add the script again.

[QUOTE]That's the correct version. So check what the messages window says.

I have deleted, re-downloaded and re-installed the YouTube.js file.

When I open the 'Windows/Scripts' I get the following
:

YouTube HTML5 Converter with 'Allowed Sites'

http://youtube.com/watch*
http://*.youtube.com/watch*
http://youtube.*/watch*
http://youtube.-nocookie.com/watch*
http://*.youtube-nocookie.com/watch*
http://youtube-nocookie.*/watch*
http://*.youtube.com/user/*
https://youtube.com/watch*
https://*.youtube.com/watch*

And in 'Settings/Preferences/MIME Types' I have a MIME Type set for video as follows:

MIME Type = video / *
Extention = mp4
Action = 'External Viewer Viewer = OS4.1:Utilities/mplayer/mplayer

But wth all the above installed stuff and settings, whenever I click on a link in YouTube I get no options, I used to get a series of numbers and would click on one and it would display in that particular reselution!

When I open the messages window I get lots of the following:

[java script:311] TypeError: Result of expression 'a[b]' [undefined]is not a function
[java script:291] TypeError: Result of expression 'flashvars' [null] is not an object
[java script:398] TypeError: Result of expression 'a.load' [undefined] is not a function
[java script:291] TypeError: Result of expression 'flashvars' [null] is not an object
[java script:98] TypeError: Result of expression 'a.load' [undefined] is not a function
[java script:311] TypeError: Result of expression 'a[b]' [undefined]is not a function
[java script:311] TypeError: Result of expression 'a[b]' [undefined]is not a function

Is that any help?
