I have two NG Amigas (see below). Does AmiUpdate differentiate between the two? Does it even matter? Or does it just depend on my login?

@thinkchip

it doesn't matter. i use the same login for both my SAM and my pegasos; i get the correct machine-specific updates for both. rigo and ssolie have done a great job.

@thinkchip
AmiUpdate itself does differentiate between models of computers. Otherwise it wouldn't know which update belongs to which model.

The registered serial num checking currently verifies you have AmigaOS registered. It doesn't really care how many copies you have or which models they belong to. We wanted to encourage users to register their serial nums and control bandwidth but we didn't want to be overly strict about it. This policy is subject to change so it is best to register all of your AmigaOS serial numbers.

@all
If you run into any trouble with AmigaOS serial numbers please use the AmigaOS contact form to get a hold of us.
