I'm posting this on behalf of long-time Amiga user Redrumloa. This is not just for MorphOS, all flavours are welcome.

---------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------

The subject line of this thread is a little misleading. At one time I was thinking of a MorphOS-East show, but I really don't think there would be enough interest to make it a "show". I do think a "get together" could be fun and doable. Here is the initial proposal.

MorphUSA
When: September 13-15

Where: Fort Lauderdale, Florida

What:: Get together on the beach in a pavilion with elecricity, water and BBQ grills. We can set up a few MorphOS systems and can enjoy some grilling/BBQ on the SFL beach. My thought is have a pre-get together on Friday Sept 13. Reserve the pavilion on Saturday September 14. Sunday September 15 would be an optional day to do something in small groups like deep sea fishing, or go to local casinos etc.
Cost: Your accomidations plus $20. The pavilion is $160 for one day. I can already confirm myself and doffo. if we can get 6 more we can pay for the pavilion for one day. Anything above 6 more people would pay for food and beer.

To be clear, this is not a computer show. This is a get together. If any Amiga/MorphOS celebrities or companies wanted to get involved, cool, lets talk, but the theme of the event is just hang out and have fun.

Thoughts? Would you commit $20 and show up on these days?

@Rob

Sounds good. But another BBQ I will be too far away from to attend.

However, how about the next show being called Morph by Morph West? I think it has a ring to it.

it is indeed, such that one remark can be taken a little too seriously.

from link provided:
Quote:
"many practicing Christians, and those of other religions, had a strong
belief that the Devil could give certain people known as witches the
power to harm others in return for their loyalty"

how about that, I always thought it was just the Christians, well I'll adjust my
attitude a little.

Poor Red. We should forgive him and his affair with the late C=USA

Would pick to remember Florida by MorphOS event rather then that unfortunate
LCC venture. If people believed nice cloud of propaganda offered at that time,
now they are forced to go back to real mode Including die hards like Dammy or Italian Amig4Be, so its time for forgiving!

Take it from someone labeled "Secretarian" "CUSA hater" etc.

I had hopes that people might actually discuss the possibility of turning up for a get together rather than it somehow veer off into a discussion about a defunct company. There's already another thread that should be appropriate for that discussion.

So is anyone here able or possibly able to attend or have any suggestions?

@thread

Try to keep this on topic and not go on about C-USA thank you. Is it too much to ask that people answer Rob in a sensible manner?
