The mechanical keyboard used in the X500 Evo computer case.

Click on video.

Select 720/1080p HD.

Standalone USB keyboards for Amiga, AmigaOne, MOS, AROS and PC set ups are available...I got carried away when I was ordering the keyboards...so I've a got some extra ones with extra set of Amiga keys if anyone is interested.

Thank you.

@TheDaddy

I love the light up keys and obviously a keyboard with the A keys. How much for the standalone EVO keyboard.

@TheDaddy

Will you be offering these key caps in Black as well, and are the White key caps available in "ALL" white, or only a combination of White and Beige, as shown in your video?

@amigadave

All white caps = yes

All black caps = yes (I just need to check how well the LEDs work with them.)

White and beige = yes

Black and beige = yes

Language layouts = yes

Laser etched = yes

No adhesives

Are you thinking about your AmigaOne X1000?

@Rob

I don't know about the price yet, I'm working on it. It depends on how many people will be interested, I'll let you know.

There is lots of hacking potential too. For example on my own mechanical keyboard I'm going to mask the inside of the key to reduce the glare from the LED and maybe even drill a small hole above the Caps Lock.

I've also noticed that each switch has space for an LED...maybe someone could add LEDs under the "A" keys? The Boing Ball key? I'm not sure if the board allows it though...Just a few ideas...

@TheDaddy

Could you show a close picture of the bottom side of keycaps how they lock to the keyboard ? Do you have Help text etched on the Help aka Scroll lock key ? White + beige combo + Caps lock led looks nice.

@Tomppeli

I'll take a photo as soon as I can.
I've got Help Above End (central row of six keys on a PC keyboard), I thought that pressing Scroll Lock would bring the LED on.

I'm sure you can remap them via Allkeys?!

Any other keys I need to know about?

I've applied some finishing touches, made the Shift symbols thicker and the right Amiga key is a bit closer to the original, dollar symbol a bit longer and CTRL slightly bolder.
But I think I'll stop now...eyes hurt.

I'll let you know when they are ready and take some photos.

Thanks!

Surely, this will be as big as EVO, if not bigger since it comes as only Cherry Amiga keyboard at least in recent times
Great nice, great individual work, let us know of keyboard price itself.

Thanks vox.

Does anyone have any requests regarding the location of Amiga keys?
Everyone ok with having Help laser etched on the same key as End? In the group of Insert, Home, Page Up, Del, End and Page down keys.

Anything else?

Any chance move the usb cable on standalone keyboard to the corner and not leave it at the center? BTW how long cable do you plan?

No unless you do something clever yourself.

I think it's about 1.5m

@TheDaddy

Any pics on this?

I just found my Mac can't display the latest Youtube files. And HTML5 doesn;t work on it. And my x86 just broke. So I don't know what you have been watching!

Also what is this with people needing to make videos? I find a simple picture is faster to look at and works with all computers and on OS4 of course.

But it sounds interesting in the least.

@Hypex

Sorry about that, I'll see if I can take some photos.

Is there anyone who can help Hypex with watching the video?

Any ideas?

I was initially skeptic with your project, mostly because I don't think keyboard form factor computers are really for the 21st century... But I have to admit, this keyboard "sub"project really looks amazing, and makes me want to get one. And this is the first "aftermarket" Amiga-themed keyboard which really caught my attention. No lame stickers, or other cheap mods, but the real deal, in real Amiga style. Keep up the good work!

An idea I had: no idea how further custom keys increase the cost, but as I'm a MorphOS user, I'd be interested in a "MorphOS" themed keyboard, so butterfly logo instead of "A" keys, and something else instead of the boing ball key. Maybe simply "Help" as it used to be, or so.

Edit: And your YouTube video works fine with OWB on MorphOS... ;)
