What exactly is it you are trying to do? I've heard that you can download a skin which gives W98 the look and feel of AmigaOS. This sort of thing?
A quick Google for 'Skins for Windows 98' comes up with some interesting stuff. Last edited by OldAmigan on 04-Sep-2005 at 11:31 AM.

Win98 isn't as skinable as say XP or OS4, and most skin programs take up resources as well big time..
You may also want to look at a shell replacement like Aston.. AFAIK works on Win98 and has some nice features. Still I always went back to the default explorer shell tho. Last edited by Seer on 04-Sep-2005 at 12:38 PM.

Hardly.. look ? Close but not enough. Feel, no way. The underlying GUI engine is just to different. (using GUI engine cause can't think of the correct term..) _________________ ~ Everything you say will be misquoted and used against you.. ~ |

I like the fact that you've changed MS IE to "Exploder!"

Why win9x? WinXP is far more stable etc. than the old windows stuff. Are you using it because your hardware is a few years old? _________________ Amiga A1200, 3.1 ROMs, Blizzard 1230 MKIV 64MB & FPU, 4GB DoM SSD, Workbench 3.1 |

WinXP can also be a lot more incompatible with older software...
That's why I'm not using XP. _________________ Site admins are people too..pooff! |

Get linux! Is free and both gnome and kde is way more skinable than any windows.
Unless you need win9x for certain games that does not run under linux/cedega..Last edited by Tomas on 05-Sep-2005 at 08:19 PM.

You might consider using Gentoo, it's abit/alot of work to setup, but it's the best thing i've ever installed on an x86 ;) _________________ Amon's digital home |
