Any BlitzMax programmers?

I am a player of a racing game which is currently only available for Windows and OS X. The game is programmed in BlitzMax, a Basic programming language that can compile for Windows, Mac and Linux, and has both off-line and on-line racing with a small, but very enthusiastic group of players taking part in on-line championships.

The developer is now very focused on mobile games and has been very successful with these. He therefore no longer has the time to develop the desktop game and has said that he 'may' be willing to open-source the game, but is hesitant because 'the code isn't great and it isn't particularly easy to read' and he doesn't have time to offer any help with understanding it.

As Blitz Basic began on the Amiga, I wondered whether there might be any programmers in this community who might be interested in taking on development of this game. If the game could be made to run on Windows, Mac, Linux AND Amiga OS's it would be a great addition to the next-gen Amiga gaming catalogue.

Are there any BlitzMax coders in the community?

Here's a video showing the game:

Mods are available to change cars, tracks, graphics etc.

@RedMelons

The A500 can do better scroll :)
Why not just release the source code and then maybe someone will port it to Amiga but what Amiga model you're thinking of ?

@kamelit0

The game is a commercial release with a reasonable price. If they could release the code and keep the level-data and track-data, etc. as commercial, they could certainly do that.

Based on what little I know about BlitzMax, it would be easier to port to C++ with OpenGL support than to port to a classic Amiga, but as you said: any Classic Amiga could scroll more effortlessly. We would have to precalculate all the image rotations though for the classics.

@Samurai_Crow

Mark Sibly also did the Monkey language and it's partly working on Amiga NG, maybe a port to Monkey would be easier.
