Hi,

Had an idea this morning while waking up.

Is there something we could do with AmigaOS to
stand out like in the 80's? I was thinking about
how it started en how we could make something
new as a communication with our environment.

This was the path i was thinking...

letters - words - phrase
words - phrase - story
phrase - story - book
story - book - book series
book - book series - book library
book series - book library - libraries on the internet
book library - libraries on the internet - all libraries at home

Ok, and this was what i was trying to do...

If we would replace the first word "letters" with something
from the beginning of the Amiga History, how far would we
be now with AmigaOS in that story, and what would be our
goals to go for.

Happy thinking.

ps: be constructive and positive.

@Dirk-B

to help me make Amiga stand out like in the 80's I have my Amiga 1000 constantly reminding me every day why I still despise Apple computer products As for the future of Amiga I enjoy daily my AmigaOne X1000 and try to contribute to testing new software and donating to projects etc. I also enjoy AspireOS on my netbook very much and love the fact that I can use my favourite Amiga programs on my couch or bed.

So enjoy your Amiga's and most importantly have FUN & you'll see that the glory days of the Amiga will come back right away

You are right, we need to appreciate what we have and stop the idea of world conquest. AmigaOS 4.x, MOS, AROS and Classic Amiga are all alive and kicking. Commodore's been dead for almost two decades and the Amiga lives on, gotta love that.

I've been saying that for years...

Odd thing is from my own personal experience and short time on the net, it's only "online" in these types of forums where people seem to spend more time wishing and going over again and again for something that aint ever gonna happen instead of just using their miggies for what they are and actually enjoying them...

@Franko

I'm enjoying AROS, it's more fun now that I don't expect an Amiga second coming. As I said, Commodore went but almost two decades ago, yet all the branches of the Amigaworld are seeing development, Things are still happening. Good things. I'm happy.

@persia

I'm happy too... I'm happy all branches of the Amigaworld aint in charge of things like...

Medical research or we'd still be waiting for someone to discover penicillin...

or imagine...

If the electric light bulb hadn't been invented yet and "Amigworld" was in charge of finding an alternative to gaslight or candlelight, we'd still be in the dimly lit past as each branch fought over which was better gaslight or candlelight and electric light would be pointless anyway as it isn't full backward compatible with the other two...

Yup things are happening, just a shame in Amigaland they don't happen within the average human lifespan...

EDIT:PS anyone notice this year "April Fools" joke on YouTube it's rubbish this time...
