Must say I am amazed by how nice OS 4.1 JS implementation looks

It's a simulation not an implementation.

All presented websites are interesting teasers, but again, this TAWS project looks so great. Since it cant really run OS 4 apps but is a nice showcase of AmigaOS at its current state, maybe it can be used to promote its existance to wider audience and old retro fans?
|
Not sure if that a good idea. People might think it *is* OS4 after it seems some OS4 users can't tell the difference!

| Nobody else noticed the Workbench screen is draggable ?!? Btw. dragging works faster and nice on my X1000 and MUIOWB. But it was very slow on Windows 7 i3 machine and Firefox 19. _________________ Rock lobster bit me. My Workbench has always preferences. X1000 + AmigaOS4.1 FE "Anyone can build a fast CPU. | I think a few people are not forward thinking enough, just think how far the internet has come in the last 10 years, there was very basic video, and games and animation and that was about it, now there Office programs, HD video streaming, and full 3D online gaming all powered by the browser, plus the idea of only getting on the internet though a computer is changing, Game Consoles, Smartphones, so called Smart TV are all internet enable now and starting to be able to do a lot more just though the net on these devices, so ok at the moment the AmigaOS emulation on the cloud is a bit slow, but give it 5 years and I bet you any money it will be as fast as running it naively on your computer, and some are asking whats the point, well one reason I would set up an Amiga emulated system on the net is so I could always access it, I have to set up my classic amiga environment on my PC, once on Windows and then on Linux, then i had to set up on the Amigaone X1000 and then if I want it on my big tell i have to move all my equipment downstairs, and same again if I wanted to take it around to friends house or something, and then if I really had the time I could hack my phone and set it up on their too, if it was all browser base I wouldn't have to do that. There are several online OSs now, so I don't really see why we shouldn't have AmigaOS in a browser.
I think I'd still rather run it on my own equipment with my own local storage, though. _________________ Fred Booth ======================================== A500, A600, A1200 c/w Mediator and 030 AmigaOne and OS4.1 Mac LCII, G4 Powermac running OSX + Amigakit and MorphOS 3.0 Dell Mini 10 Netbook running IcAros and AmigaForever+Amikit+AmigaSys 2006 Macb |

Just blew me away... I just can't believe what I am seeing...
How usable is the OS4.1 via the web. Can you run any other software on it via the cloud...
Q!

| @amigang Personally, even if it were 100 percent compatible, I've no interest in using something that consumes multiple times as much electricity, introduces latency, requires an Internet connection to use, and compromises security, versus a desktop Amiga.

As explained above it is simulation, with only clock and multiview working (as well as some datatypes).
So its not a real Amiga cloud Even having an AmigaOS cloud would be nice peak in the future
