I already have accounts on two other banks where I can have my stock trading and other stuff done with MorphOS but moving out my loans from my primary bank (crappy Danske Bank) would cost too much.

What about that plan then: Release 3.x and wipe out all your loans and debts from the millions (if not billions!!one!!eleven!!) made of license sales .

I use mine for tinkering, a bit of coding, and whatever else I can do reasonably, such as:

- Web browsing
- Web development
- Playing music
- Messing with MIDI stuff
- Playing the odd game (classic and OTTD / Zelda type ports)

While I try to do as much as I can on my Amigas, there are plenty of things I still need a PC for. It's mostly photography stuff, but there are other everyday things I need it for too... Reasons I can't use any of my Amiga systems for that:

- Speed. Browsing and previewing thousands of 12MP JPEG files needs some decent performance. My 3GHz/4GB/SATA-2 based PC can handle it easily using Picasa. My 0.8GHz/0.5GB/IDE A1 would take hours to do what the PC can do in seconds.
- Raw image support. While GIMP can handle raw (on Linux anyway, haven't tried it on AmiCygnix), the ability to see a preview of a raw file by clicking on it is almost essential for me.
- Decent printer support. I have a top-end printer which produces fabulous results. Unfortunately, Linux doesn't fully support it, meaning it can't take advantage of the full quality of the printer, so Windows or Mac are my only option for that.
- Colour calibration. This is essential for anyone who is serious about editing and printing photographs. Colour spaces have to be matched and correctly interpreted, and while this is possible in theory in Linux, I've never managed to get it to work. It "just works" on Windows and Mac, and it completely non-existent on Amiga-likes.
- Phone connectivity. I like to be able to sync my phone, back up its contents, do software updates, and even develop apps using the official SDK. Mass storage works for transferring music on my Amiga, but that's it...
- PIC chip coding. While it might be possible using some trickery and old serial programming hardware, it's much easier/faster to be able to use the official SDK and USB programmer.

(And yes Franko, it is a choice - I could choose not to do these things, but why deny myself my hobbies just to make a point nobody cares about?)

I know you could but your one of the very few people who have actually given a decent explanation as to why you "choose" to use a PC...

Most people I know who actually own and use a PC or Mac are the type who moan and gripe about them, that they cant get them to do this or that or it doesn't do something the way they want it to but continue to use them, when I ask them why the answer is usually something like "well, cos everybody does"...

Using the Amiga to me is not about making a point or whether anybody cares about it, it's my choice to do so and the only folk I like to try and encourage to use them more are people like yourself and others on these sites who actually own them and know about them...

There is no point in trying to convince folk from outside these circles to buy an Amiga as that would be tricky since they aren't exactly readily available for them to nip out and buy...

Anyway, it seems like most folk whom have replied in this thread do indeed use their Amiga's as much as possible and that's nice to know and I was just wondering in which ways folk still used Amigas instead of all the usual chatter about what they would like to see in the future but somewhere along the line the PC debate crept in...
