After today's "news" it looks like we have been stabbed in the back again, many have been left with a bitter taste in their mouth, so I am asking:

How many people would boycott Amiga Inc.?

I say don't email, try to contact them, don't buy anything with the Amiga logo or Amiga name on.

Don't reply to their emails, don't review anything or post news about them and what they do or plan to do, drop Amiga Inc. from your lives.

Let's give AROS and Hyperion all our support and more.

Let's just carry on as Amiga Inc. doesn't exist anymore or never existed.

Until they give it back to the community we will not be interested.

AROS can run on a few different architectures, AROS 64bit looks promising and I will let you know what I think of it when it's up and running on my pc.

Hyperion are great and have worked hard, always delivering, being it high quality games or a new Amiga OS4. Acube have done well too.

Let's just concentrate on companies with people who are ACTUALLY interested in us, our money and care about the Amiga.

Your thoughts.

@TheDaddy

If AI sold something we could boycott I would be right behind you.

And since when did they have anything that we would want to buy anyway?
Kinda hard to boycott someone who does not have any products to sell.

But yeah, we should support Aros more. I wish we could somehow get the OS4 team to help out Aros.

@Beamish2040

I say let's go further:

Don't email them,
Don't try to contact them
Don't buy anything with the Amiga logo or Amiga name on, even if it's a mouse.
Don't reply to their emails, don't review anything or post news about them and what they do or plan to do.
Don't report on what their silly sponsorship deals.

They don't exist!

@Tomas

Correct me if I am wrong but don't they get money or royalties for anything with the Amiga name or logos on, even if it's just a mouse?

You wrote the key words. AI is nothing but an illusion.

You're too right. Then add to that the fact that AI doesn not really seem to care about a mere 2,000 users anyway.

New products with the Amiga logo, they get royalties from them.. I think, but I'm unsure, old products they have already received royalties for. Thus, boycotting old products with the Amiga logo would only hurt Amiga dealers, more or less.

However, there are not very many recent products which carries the Amiga logo today (if you discount the products in their webshop).

Honestly, the only thing we as a community can do to tick AI off is to make AROS successful. Other than that, we are nothing to them.

My thoughts? Try calming down, and looking at the non-announcement objectively! The announcement says virtually nothing, and apart from clearly stating that OS 5 = AA 2 (which was only hinted at before), there is nothing we did not know already.

Save your anger for when we actually have some real info on what AA 2 or OS 5 looks like!

Sorry, I already bought OS4 classic. But other than OS4, I honestly do not have any interest whatsoever in any products I've heard from Amiga Inc. and I don't see any reason to buy anything else with the name or logo.
