Take-Over of Amiga Inc

Hello World

I am now following the troubles with Amiga Inc. for years. You know, I don't have to explain...

The only solution would be a Take-Over from a professional Amiga-Supporter.

How many bucks are needed? Can someone from Hyperion give me a number (in Dollars).

How is it possible to contact Mr. McEwen? I tried it many times - also sending some mails to the press-office - but nothing...

So, if I see a chance to take over Amiga Inc., I will search for investors.

Now first I need a contact to Mr. McEwen and I need to see how many Dollars they want (please only serious answers - I know that Amiga Inc. is only worth 1 Dollar). But it's the brand they hold...

Greets from Zurich

Birbo

@Birbo

Considering they claim to have millions already (see the Kent Arena stuff from last year) the answer from them I suspect would at least be in the millions (USD).

As far as I remember DiscreetFX already tried it with no success. Search this portal for more information.

@fairlanefastback

Hi fairlanefastback

I don't believe this Kent Area stuff. At least they never had a contract. This were only false promises.

I tried to mail to bill@amiga.com a few times - but no answer.

Perhaps he don't believes, that I have real intentions. Or he has nothing to show me, than a little firm worth nothing...

Has anyone contacted Bill McEwen once? Some people who can send him my message?

@AmiKit

Didn't Bill put out a ball-park figure of several billion dollars?

Whatever it was, it was far in excess of what DFX could afford, even if all the community chipped in with a few thousand dollars.

Even then DFX seemed to have no real business plan. Another clueless Amiga owner is NOT what the community needs.

That email address works. He only answers a select few people. Rest assured he got your emails. Try calling the phone number I guess. The simple fact is they don't appear to want to sell. And personally I doubt they'd want any buyer to end up with access to their financials.

Whether the Kent stuff was lies or not now they are kinda stuck with such a valuation. If you were able to by the company for $25,000 then its quite possible that a fraud investigation could be opened against them in regard to Kent. And they certainly would not want that. So even if you are right that the value is extremely low, they aren't about to admit that to you.

The bottom line is at a minimum you'd be talking millions for the trademarks to even get them to talk (if even then). Unless you can round that up don't even bother.

Its not really worth that. But hence the problem. They'd want too much, you would not be able to get enough (unless you are very rich with very rich friends).

Could the community buy Amiga? or, try to buy it togheter with a society (DiscreetFX, or Hyperion/Acube), makin Amiga a public company, with users as shareholders?
Someone has done something like this with some football teams (there's a famous
case in the UK)... supporters, bought the team through internet bounties, becoming shareholders of the club...

$5 and a promise to continue on Amiga Anyware 3.0, and that it will run on anything from kitchen supplies, & r/c toys to toilets and spaceships, and add that it will be more successfull than microsoft (in two more weeks) and they will sell instantly !!!

If Bill is not going to answer people with a price then one must assume its either not for sale, or it is for sale but only to people who would not need to ask how much anything is in life because they are just that rich. Since no one in the community has the type of money Bill Gates does this is already a dead issue from the get go.

Anyone willing to pay the theoretical asking price (Bill has stated Amiga is not for sale at any price), is clearly not of sane mind and therefore should be discounted from owning the brand.

The way things are going in the world these days, it might be cheaper to by the Atari name instead.

I am wondering how Amiga.Inc is making money now ? And don't tell me it's with AA -stuff... It's just a big balloon with a big name on it, for the rest it's nothing but air.

Furthermore, ... is Bill the right person to talk to if you want to buy Ainc? Just wondering.

And why should you buy it now ? Original this tought (DFX ) came up when there was no hardware. So that's not the problem anymore ...

And when you buy Amiga ... what makes you think Hyperion would stop pursuing what they want from Amiga? I can imagine they want to clear this out for once and for all to avoid this in the future.

No ... I wouldn't touch this ( and any other company ) when it's stuck in a lawsuit like this.

Not in the UK yet.
The idea has been suggested for one club but the owners aren't selling yet.
It does happen in Spain though.

@TiredofLife

Are you sure? because I heard about that story at the radio few weeks ago,
it was a small football team (I dont remember the name or the division...) bought
for something like 1 million £ , if I remember well...
Everyone could partecipate buying shares for a minimum of 50 euros...
The thing attracted a lot of people from all the world and the goal was
easily reached.
I've heard that even in Italy some people are trying to do the same (even here,
with small teams, naturally...), and from what they say things are going very
well...
I think that something like that could be done even with Amiga, but who want
to try something like that must be able to talk even out of the community...
A public computer company could be something pretty for a lot of people out
there...

I don't think he has any real power these days (with Amiga Inc #2), just a fool that manages to get Amiga Inc some (bad) press coverage, presumably because that's what who-ever is really in charge wants.

Only recent and a small team?
In that case, I'm not sure.
Will look into that.
