Don't rally have any new information on subject, as I understood it AmigaOS was booting on it, no other information was given, one driver alone can delay project like this for months.

Hmmm.... while I don't know much about a new "portable Amiga" being launched (as it's kinda hard to find any real details about it) I suppose this link kinda sums it up...

The link you provided tells as much as you are going to find out right now, as no new information has been provided. The Netbook was first announced at last year's AmiWest Show by the Hyperion representative, Steve Solie.

This is not a new product, rather it is an existing PPC Netbook that Hyperion is porting AmigaOS4.x to run on it.

It won't have the name "Amiga" on it, but will probably have an "AmigaOne" badge somewhere, or some kind of AmigaOne sticker, to identify it as an AmigaOS4.x compatible computer.

It should be able to run some Amiga software without an emulator by using the built-in Petunia translator and it will probably be able to run E-UAE to run all other Amiga software that does not need a Zorro card, or joystick port dongle to run on an original 680x0 Amiga.

Well if they don`t speak about MorphOS 3 on laptop Macs, this must be it.
Yes, in strange ways, through the PowerPC evolution of these two, and we might have portable Amigas somewhere in 2012 ... more then decade late, but better ever then never

Ahh... so it's that Netbook wotnot this thread is about (wasn't sure to be honest), thought it might have been about some other new Amiga hardware that I hadn't heard about yet...

Oh well, I'll just have to wait and hope the NatAmi makes it into production before I pop me clogs (now you could easily fit a NatAmi inside an old laptop cas and make a real Amiga portable)...

I'm sure Hyperion will announce it only when it's ready for production and the majority of drivers are ready.

if you have a compatabile old netbook lying around I recommend you try AspireOS as I've been messing with it on my Samung Netbook and it's very straight forward to dual boot both Win & AspireOS/AROS and it runs very snappy natively.

True, but requires OS to be able to run on high end 604 CPU like on 400Mhz (or better low end when compared to non Classic OS4 systems), a new gfx PowerVR driver, new audio driver, touchpad driver and first time in OS4 world Wi Fi support and power savings.
