Just notice Amazon has listed the Commodore: the Amiga years, the sequel to Commodore on the Edge.
No details other than
540pages
October 2012
http://www.amazon.co.uk/Commodore-Amiga-Years-Brian-Bagnall/dp/0973864990/ref=sr_1_2?ie=UTF8&qid=1339445886&sr=8-2

The Future Was Here: The Commodore Amiga
http://www.amazon.co.uk/The-Future-Was-Here-Commodore/dp/0262017202/ref=sr_1_1?s=books&ie=UTF8&qid=1339446364&sr=1-1
You can read the first few pages, seem pretty good, anyone read it and would recommend? tempted.

And Viva Amiga
http://vivaamigafilm.blogspot.co.uk/
just thought I'd remind everyone, really looking forward to it, hope it come out for the end of the year, it be great if it was shown at an Amiga show.

@amigang

Thanks for that. Will pre-order that in a moment. I read the first edition (On the edge), and bought the 8-bit era second edition, but haven't got around to going through that yet. I was planning to wait until I had both parts before starting on it.

Ordered mine from Amazon in the UK and it arrived quickly, it's a hardback edition and interesting but slightly expensive but worth it.

@all

Hi all!

I also just finished reading "The Future Was Here" and it is great: lots of interesting facts, technical details, "insider" stories, and a very nice, balanced view on the Amiga strengths and weaknesses...

... definitely a must-read!

Happy reading!

@amigang

I'm reading "The future was here" right in these days.
It's a good one and a fairly technical reading from many point of view.

I backed "Viva Amiga" and I can't wait to get my hands on it as well.

@amigang

I was expecting mine to be dispatched today. Just checked Amazon and all it says now is, this book is not yet released, but previously it had a july 31 launch date.

I have also received several emails from Amazon over the past year informing me that the book has been delayed. I received the last one a couplke of weeks ago.

So annoying isn't it? I will send Brian an email and see if I can get an ETA.

@bitman

I am expecting that this will be a nice little gift under the Christmas tree :)

Didn't it take a while for the last one too?

Same here. The new arrival will be 3 months by then so I should be able to have a break and read an Amiga book at Christmas

@BigD

It is still annoying to me how things ended up. Commodore could have been where Apple is today if they had the right visionary at the top!

No response from Brian thus far. Anyone here a personal friend? Might be worth calling him to check he is ok.

I find it odd too based on this news that it was finally going to print.

@amigang

We Amiga fans are used to dates slipping ;) As I posted before, plan for a treat under the Christmas Tree. Delays happen...
