I did some quick comparisons of Roadshow vs Miami DX. In a simple download test of an mp3 file from Aminet, Miami averaged 110 KB/s, Roadshow averaged 310 KB/s. Browsing is faster as well (obviuosly).

It is also very stable. Some programs I run with Miami tend to randomly crash. They work flawlessly with Roadshow. Set up is easy too.

My point? If you own a Classic Amiga with OS 3.x buy Roadshow or else...

I wish there was modern Gui for Roadshow. The one on Aminet is a bit dated.

My system is a Blizzard 060/PPC running at 66/240 Mhz with OS 3.9

@Drewlio77

Looks like a good solution for the Classic Amiga users, some good results there.

@Drewlio77

Thanks for posting the info! Happy to hear there is a supported TCP stack for classic machines!

I tried to place an order for Roadshow at amigashop.org but had no success.

If I enter bank details at the payment stage then the website complains that I have not entered an account number, even though I have. Additionally, there is a label for "bank name:" but no field to enter any bank name.

After this I tried selecting Prepayment which I assumed would give me the option to pay by debit card. I went all the way through the process but no payment details were taken.

Lastly I tried to use the dreaded paypal option (not a fan of using paypal). Again, I went all the way through the process and no paypal payment details were taken. I was greeted with a success message that said my order had been processed but I was given no opportunity to pay.

What are other people's experience of purchasing Roadshow?

Okay been in touch with them. Here's the basics:

* Bank account payment is for German customers only.

* Pre-Payment is for when you've sent them payment to their bank account so you would need to organise with them first.

* Paypal works but they send you an email with a link in it to finish the payment process. This is what I had to do in the end.

BH.
