Just wondering why there aren't Amiga shows (or fan club meets at least) on the east coast, like in New York?

@terminills thought about having one last year, with emphasis on retro. I'll ask if he's still thinking about such a thing.

I'm willing to work on one again if anyone else is interested.

I would like an AmiSouthWest, is a real pain to go all the way to sacramento for me and others that probably got no money or time; ok there is commVex in vegas but is more a generic retrocomputing event than else;

@saimon69

I should have said "general retro" to be clear.

When there was serious talk about another show, one focus was on having a bigger splash, which would include greater attendance.
Whilst Amiga would be part of such a show, it would only be just that...a part.
I realize the thinking about the west coast show is different.

There is the Vintage Computer Festival Southeast on April 20 and 21 this year. One official announcement is at

Heh, VCF is the generic event. CommVEx concentrates solely on Commodore 8-bits and Amigas.

@RobertB

Looks like the Amiga will already be represented:

History of Commodore's Color
Peter Rittwage (Augusta, GA, United States)
All of the Commodore color computers will be exhibited, from the Vic-20 to the Amiga 4000, along with some history of the computer lines and the company.

Demos will be running on the C64, Amiga 1000, and likely others, plus some games to play.

Be great if someone could go and get some photos! I still have my ribbon from when my Amiga 4000 one a category at the VCF in Silicon Valley.

@thread

Seems like an important event for Amiga Execs to go and get fundraising/investors.

A nice opportunity indeed for wider audience and sales !
