Micronik tower keyboard adapter.

Hi !

I have problem I purchased this keyboard adapter from ebay and I do not know how it hooks to my A1200. I'm towering my A1200 and need a keyboard. The keyboard adapter is from a Micronik tower . It looks like the connector for the mobo is missing?

I don't have a clip that would hold the ribbon cable to the mobo keyboard slot. It looks to be very similar to the keyboard ribbon on a stock A1200. I don't have a complete A1200 in a case ; so I don't have all the other parts. I'm building this computer from scratch ie... I purchased mobo and parts to get it going.

I will pm seller for help but thought I would ask here first.

Thank You

@Ellis

the micronik keyboard adapter is the same as other amiga keyboard adapter.

fit the ribbon on the keyboard connector on the A1200 MB and fix the ribbon with the little clip on the A1200 keyboard connector.

the micronik keyboard adapter have some holes to be fitted with a micronik tower case with screws and It's difficult to fix the micronik keyboard adapter if you not have the original micronik plastic tower.

you have the side for fixing the micronik keyboard adapter with the micronik case itself.

you can of course use a PC keyboard with also the micronik keyboard adapter.

the best is the elbox keyboard adapter

http://eu-shop.elbox.com/cgibin/shop?info=530PC12&sid=34874d99

because directly on the A1200 keyboard connector and just one hole on the case.

bye

Does it allow you to make multiple key presses and can you hook up a real Amiga keyboard with it.

No multiple key presses with micronik or elbox adapter with PC keyboard (if I remember well my doomattack tests, for the micronik adapter) years ago But I'm 99,9% sure

have used the micronik adapter on micronik1 tower years ago and elbox adapter on the actual dbox tower here.

@Ellis

Thanks to amigakit for selling the clip and hope informations I have put on this thread have helped you

IMHO, an elbox keyboard is mush better (just for the fit on case part I mean).

@Mrodfr

The Lyra 2 is a better option, it supports multiple key presses, clips over the keyboard chip, supports Amiga Keyboards and is cheaper than Elbox's.

I was using an Eyetech EZ-Key-XS but replaced it with a Lyra 2 the other day because it was a getting a bit flaky when resetting or switching between video sources.

I now have an AT A4000 keyboard plugged in but will miss some of the unique features of the Eyetech adapter.

That was something the really annoyed me with the keyboard interface. Having set the machine up, not being able to even press two cursor keys together was frustrating especially for editing docs/programs in CED (or any other application) - worse for games that needed diagonals on the keys.
