Decent vid, apart from the bit at the end "Commodore are now producing an Amiga Mini", bit misleading to viewers who will think it's the same company and machine-lineage.

It's likely the guy just found it on Google and knows nothing of OS4, MOS etc. though.

He's an expert on retro hardware (check out his other videos) so I'd cut him some slack.

Yeah his other vids are good. However on this one it seems like he is reading from wikipeadia.

That's because we're experts ourself. If you're reading article on a subject you're well versed you're going to find things you don't like. His target audience, I think, are people who don't have 20-something years of experience with Amiga.

Strange...he is an expert on retro stuff and he knows about a two years old company called CUSA who have nothing to do with retro...more free publicity

Just the cynic in me

Uh, maybe he reads the thing called Internet? CUSA news where featured in quite a few popular news sites and podcasts.

But sure, he may be paid off by Shadow Organisation to spread FUD on his retro review channel.

So if he reads this "Internet" thing surely he knows about Hyperion and OS4 (who have been around for years) or AROS, even MOS! The Minimig, the FPGAArcade...you know proper retro stuff, the Internet reports on them too last time I checked...

I am afraid I am with Dan on this...

So your point is what exacly? I said he could read/learn about Commodore USA, a company that claims to have Commodore naming rights and Amiga naming rights, from the news items that are scattered across the web. So yes, him being expert on things retro, he would not know about the infights and "ecosystem" forking that happened after Commodore downfall.

This is all trivia for world outside our circle.

>>So your point is what exacly?

My point is what I said above. Being an expert, surely he would know about the other projects and consequently know the difference before pushing CUSA stuff through his videos. I am not saying he has being asked or being paid for it but it's weird nonetheless. I wasn't expecting it.

So yes, him being expert on things retro, he would not know about the infights and "ecosystem"

But he is an expert...

This is all trivia for world outside our circle.

So if he is an expert he should know that CUSA have nothing to do with the old Commodore and the old Amigas, not that they have anything to do with the new stuff either.

Don't get me wrong, he makes good videos, although he was reading from wiki like said above, but I find it weird that all this retro expertise ends up pointing at something that is completely alien to it all.

To be honest I doubt anyone out there ever heard about Minimig, FPGAArcade, MorphOS (no matter how much I like it), AROS, OS4, Genesi, Acube, Pegasos, whatever... but if you search Amiga you may find this:

Amiga Power

Exactly. But that is not my point. Nobody out there knows about the Minimig, FPGAArcade, OS4, AROS etc...apart people who have a stronger than average interest in things/computers from the '80s-'90s. You don't have to be a retro-maniac.

If you are an expert, surely you know more than that.

I searched Amiga and got:

top of the list Commodore Amiga from wiki, then Amiga 500, third amiga.org...

I like the power thing though...

I know, I've subscribed to his channel for a few years, but the fact he's an expert in *retro* may mean he doesn't know next/new gen Amiga hardware, hence the insinuation that CUSA "Amiga" was a continuation rather than mentioning OS4.

Wow, that Amiga Power was pretty nice find.

Didnt Escom use to have Amiga logo where Amiga was written the similar way that on top of I there was this dot that was in some 45 degree angle?

CUSA has no future, even with their $30 million ad budget. Oh, OK, that wasn't for real?

Well it's still the current Amiga logo, but yes it was based on the Escom logo in 1995 and yeah they do look similar!

Ah. now i see it. its like Amiga Incs dot is falling backwards and Amiga Powers falling forward.

Hmm, I wonder if there would be some money for Ainc. there by suing them.

It might just be that the last "Amiga" thing man have heard of was about CUSA Amiga Mini. Retro experts are not always that experts in particular cases. If similar appears in next C64, A1200 or CD32 review, it might be new 30 mil. advertising budget working: next target retro gamers
