@caver99

depends on what you want :
- keep it retro and have the original feeling
- go next gen with a tiny box you can connect to LCD monitor easily and more feature you can ever dream of for your mint A1200

from my side, I would go for the FPGA arcade (but I already have fully equipped Amigas !)

@lionstorm

Depends, I have several amigas, all them are expanded. Why not buy 030 now when they are availlable and get also FPGA amiga IF thy ever materialize?

If you are from europe, you can connct your A1200 to your LCD-TV with scart, you will get crystal clear flicker free picture even in hires, if you have little luck.

@caver99

tell you what I would do:

1- buy 030 accelerator with some fast ram - (best match for compatibility & speed)
2- register WHDLoad
3- rock on !
4- buy flicker fixer if your old Amiga monitor is down or if you want a bigger picture.

I acquired this 1200 and the case, keyboard and psu have no yellowing at all, the motherboard has v3.0 roms thats it.
No floppy drive no hdd and no mouse port, the mouse i have sorted by building a new cable, hopfuly i have sorted out the floppy now and i have just been building a cf via winuse to use on it.
I hav ethe case for the FPGA when the are ready to go, so was thinking of just getting either an 8mb ram upgrade or one of them ACA accelerators.
If not for the a1200 route and go the FPGA it would be great if there was a way to interface the keyboard to the FPGA to utilise the case but the only way so far is via the keyra which is usb not ps2.

If i can get this powerbook to a good home i might do both ways FPGA and A1200, i might even see if anyone fancy's swapping the powerbook for an accelerator for the 1200

@lionstorm: Retro vs next-gen approach depends on personal preference. If nostalgia is key and you're content with an LCD connection to your A1200, stay retro. Otherwise, for a modern experience with extra features in a compact form factor like FPGA arcade boards—despite owning Amigas already—is the way forward.
