Speaking of the Mediator...

Hi,

I have found a strange thing with my system. I own the Mediator LT4 and TX versions. With the Spider USB, SB 16, 100Mbit Ethernet and 3dFX Voodoo 4 PCI cards.

With the LT4 (my current setup) everything works fine. OS 3.9 goodness.

With the Mediator TX version everything works well except the Sound card. Only the mixer on my SB16 works, the 16-bit audio (AHI) doesnt. I get a click whenever the audio attempts to play and that's it. Elbox wasn't much help. So I ordered another board and the same problem exists.

On a side note before the 5 slot TX version was released, the regular 5 slot worked just fine. My Accelerator card is Blizzard PPC/060 with 256MB of Ram. 66/240 Mhz respectively.

Any ideas?

@Drewlio77

My 1200T with Mediator is in storage right now, but AFAIK the order in which the cards are installed is important. I believe both 100mbps cards and SoundBlasters require DMA access to the video card for buffering. Think I have
1) GFX
2) NIC
3) SB16

Also, I've tried different mixers, and Ghostmixer seems to work pretty well (Aminet). Though I only have a 4mb Virge (SVGA) card. (Using a straight 060 card, no ppc here, as I haven't been able to part with the internal organs that would pull enough money to buy one )

@Drewlio77

At least you got a reply my recent support email went unanswered.
3 registered elbox products and not a reply.
Figured it out in the end myself.

My problem was no sound at all from SB128 or Mixer even though ahi.device was opening .

After update the drivers and setting the VoodooMem env to 12 it worked.

MMU = Yes, previous setting: Yes
NoCache = No, previous setting: No
VoodooMem = 12, previous setting: 12
VoodooInt = Yes, previous setting: Yes
Warp3D = Yes, previous setting: Yes

Hope you get it sorted. I could never make it work with a radeon card however and the latest radeon.card has been removed from elbox's site.
