@Mikey

I'm not sure if AmigaKit still have any EZ Tower Z4's. They're not listed there but it might be worth emailing them.

I have one that I don't use any more but I'd promised it to someone else at amiga.org and then totally forgot about it so I've just dropped him a message to see if he's still interested first.

@Yssing, @Mikey

Yet here it is http://amigakit.leamancomputing.com/catalog/product_info.php?products_id=700
though you won't find it easily, it appeared as a "don't forget" item when I looked at the
EZ Z4 Tower ATX Power Adapter.

Sort of "cart before the horse"

@Draby

Thats the Z4 tower which isnt the same as the first Eyetech tower, as it didnt support busboards but did support the use of PC and Amiga in one case

@TheAMIgaOne

OK, if you say so,
I guess this bit: "This custom enclosure features special A1200 port cut-outs and PCI-slot / Zorro slot cut-outs on rear. Tower case has custom backplate which makes it Mediator PCI busboard ready and Zorro busboard ready." means it is not what the OP is looking for?

Draby

p.s. though it does say "stock expected (overdue)"

@Draby

I think he meant the first Eyetech towers didn't support bus boards.

@Rob

Yes the very tall(6 bay) are the original eyetech cases which hold the Amiga motherboard in the A1200 base attached to a custom back panel on the opposite side to normal motherboards, with no busboard support, this was my first Tower case. After this I bought a Elbox Amiga Tower from a german user.

I also have the Eyetech Z4, this holds the Amiga Motherboard on its own in the correct position that motherboards go in cases, these are busboard ready but do require a right-angle pcmcia adapter if you wish to use the cardbus.

Would it possible for the company that made the A1200 towers to do another production run?

@Darth_X

Replacing the back panel with a custom one is fairly basic sheet metal work so if AmigaKit and any other suppliers ran out of stock it wouldn't be too difficult to make new ones.

I think that all Amiga Tower systems have been modified standard cases, apart from the plastic ones made by Mikronic in the late 90's.

I'd be inclined to send them a mail to check. Trevor's visit was fairly recent and I don't think it was that long since AmigaKit moved premises so they might still be busy with other things and put re-listing certain stock items on the back burner for now.

If there's a small engineering firm near you they may be able to fabricate and fit a new back panel to the tower of your choice. It could be cheaper than getting a tower shipped over from Europe.

Do you have a busboard in the Mikronic. I think the Mikronic case only line up with their own busboards. If have one and don't to plan get a Mediator then you could use the current case as a reference to take measurements from. you don't even need to worry about card bracket then.

Out of curiosity, why would you prefer a metal case to the Mikronic? Is it a bit flimsy or something?

Do you have the A1200 keyboard case they did? I always wanted one at the time.

Yes, I have a Micronik.

Some Amigas tend to yellow and become brittle, so who knows what will happen to Micronik case.

Besides I was thinking of putting together a spare Amiga tower system.
