Having it connected shouldn't be a problem. Do you kill the TCP/IP-stack before running the WHDLoad games? If you're using a wireless card don't forget to also shutdown wirelessmanager or what it's called.
You can do it with the break command. First run status to check the process number. Then run break "processnumber"

Nice that it solved your issue.
I had the same issue a while ago and it was Neil Cafferkey who explained how to shutdown Wirelessmanager (i forgot about status and break). |

That reminds me... Many, many years ago I wrote a couple of ARexx scripts for handling tasks by name rather than by number. Handy as you don't need to look up the task number each time, so you can put it in a script for example which you can run easily before running WHDLoad.
It searches for the correct task number for you, then sends the break command automatically, so all you need to type is:
RX Break.rexx wirelessmanager
You can see it here: http://aminet.net/package/util/cli/TaskByName.lha
(That email address is not in use any more... Best to ask me here if you've any questions)_________________ RobTheNerd.com | InstallerGen | SMBMounter | Atoms-X |
