@KimmoK

But PageStream is more like a DTP, isn't it?

Google Docs... Forget it. I want something native, and Cinnamon and Final Writer seem to be the best choiches (even though I will be getting Cinnamon, as it is free :) )

Anyway, any other suggestions?

you should consider asking CW's author for a donation.. "as it is free" sounds good, but I wonder who is going to fill the battery he has instead of his hearth. maybe he does not need money for food.

btw, I need a hand in my garden and house work, anybody willing to come and work for me? for "freeware" of course.. if many of you are coming, you can share traveling fees and maybe sleep together on one hotel room, it might save you some additional pennies.

yes, pagestream is dtp. what is a little unclear is what system you need the word processor for. since you write "amiga" i assume genuine amiga, but others seem to assume os4.

If you're on the classic i think the only hope is to resurrect one of the oldies... FinalWriter (which is my favourite) and WordWorth both appear from time to time on Ebay, or you might be lucky and find some NOS somewhere.
Maybe with AmigaWriter you have more chances to find a new copy, your best bet could be with Alinea Computers (they are the current copyright holder IIRC) or Vesalia.
PageStream is overkill if you just want to "write" IMHO.

"only hope" and "oldies" sounds a little dramatic here. cinnamon writer seems to be only a demo or alpha version (correct me if im wrong), the development not very much active for several years, so hardly to expect a final release. abi word on the other hand is rather a basic text processor that must be used under linux compatibility layer/emulation. a native 68k software even if dated is probably still a more reasonable choice.

I didn't mean it in a negative way! Just to say that it's the most viable

I would say "closed". Most companies in that days were very small and only were 1 or 2 people and freelancer. Some like Prodad or Haage&Partner (and some other) still exist but of course do not develop amiga software anymore.

amigawriter from Haage&Partner is still available:

MiniOffice was a complete Office application, made by EuroPress software. Euoropress is now closed, so where can I get the software?

You can find it quite easily (and cheap) on Ebay, even the C64 version

ebay is a good source for all sort of amiga 68k software (I got lots of it from there) but you need time. Amigawriter is still buyable and better than Minioffice with a more modern GUI, then you can get Ignition free of charge (spread sheet), MUIBase (database) free of charge too, the same for YAM/Simplemail. If you have time (ebay) the "Final" series can recommended because the different programs work together. Minioffice is (as far as I can remember) a rather old (looking) package from the 80s. But it is up to you .

The big problem:
I do not have an ebay account and I am not planning to get one soon :).
PS: Because I mostly use emulation, I cannot use the original disks right now...

You can get Amigawriter from Vesalia and the other programs I mentioned can be downloaded (disks not needed). There are no modern free word processors.

Is there a way to get old amiga apps legally like Amiga Forever?
