it's not always like that, at a company where i worked (we made lifeboats) they decided to move the steelwork section to an asian country , a year later they had to close down the steelwork section as the quality wasn't accepted by the standards of the oil industry in North atlantic sea.
It costed the company a helluva lot of money to move it down there and it costed them even more that they had to close down the company a year after.
10 years later they still have to rely on their competetion to produce and sell them a solution which is not exactly state of the art compared to their own model (before they moved production to asia because they won't take the risk of starting another production facility again....).
@all
there's loads of things which ain't using chinese parts still, but there are companies who used to be "chinese free" whom is looking into a solution to include chinese stuff.
To build anything in china means cheap and fast production and if there is a good supervisionthen you will get (most likely) a really good product too.

| @Bezzen Management has to say that, they took the decision to move because it should be better and cheaper
I think outsourcing or moving production to China is a good solution for some companies but there are certainly many horror stories as well. I heard of smaller companies that has to close because a single production run (of f.ex. designer furniture parts) was not as promised and I bet there are many examples like that.
Sometimes it's great to have production nearby so you can supervise it yourself:)

Yes thats funny, when you get company X, to do some work for you later find that it has Company Y doing all the work, and also that Company X, is distorting the planing and priorities of project execution, and communication is going slow due time zone differences (e-mails being read at different times of day).
You find out project is taking longer then it should and end up costing more due misinformation, and you find out might have done it your self equal as well.
