I used PageStream for 18 years producing Amigaguiden (Norwegian) Amiga magazine and for 3 years also #amiga guide magazine (English).

You can download #amiga guide magazine in PDF format from:

Let me float this idea. Following the success of getting the Magellan source code released, what about investigating the chances/cost of getting the PageStream 2.2 code open sourced?

It would be better if an agreement could be made for someone to take over the maintenance of the Amiga version/s.

Even if someone steps forward (which I doubt - Deron has been looking for a MUI-experienced Amiga programmer for years), the code will most likely be a real can of worms. Otherwise I can't explain Deron's inability to find and fix obvious bugs, or the fact that each release fixes something and breaks something else. The Windows version being no exception, by the way.

@Trixie

Why is Pagestream still sold for AmigaOS4 & MorphOS if no MUI-experienced Amiga programmer is updating the code? I paid for both of these versions many many years ago. Very sad state of affairs for AmigaOS4 & MorphOS customers. And it's doubtful to ever be correct, wish someone would fix this problem.

@thread

Is the latest 68k version rock solid?
or is there any "rock solid" version of PageStream at all?

@MichaelMerkel

If that can be confirmed then it's great news for Pagestream customers.

@DiscreetFX

You'd be suprised in the future when something in page stream format is again wanted.

Before emptying the trash, you should attempt to convert all page stream format files into RTF (or something).

It happened to me.

The last time 4.x & 5.x on OS4 & MorphOS were released is 2006-06-19, 7 years ago! They are listed as beta and are in fact incomplete buggy betas. The developer has not bothered to make even minor changes in all that time. Screen shot below for enlightenment.

Mod's note: If you have axes to grind, go do it over at your own site. Don't bring your squabbles here. FOR YOUR INFORMATION, and to prevent confusion, last update for PageStream 5.0.5.8a 2010-10-21 So, not the dates you've posted.

Not sure if Pagestream is even relevant in 2013 when the highly updated/highly advanced DTP program InDesign Creative Cloud can be had for a mear $19.99 per month. The whole Creative Cloud Suite is only $49.99 per month. Educators or Students get everything for only $19.99 per month, all apps including PhotoShop, InDesign, Dreamweaver and many more. It's a great deal but sadly only on PC/Mac.

Gosh, I suppose one could then compare Cheetah3D and Aladdin 3D 6.0, right? Then ask how relevant is it? Both only run on Mac.

@Yo

Cheetah3D is a great program and unlike Aladdin4D it has seen several steady upgrades. It's way more advance than Aladdin4D. I paid for Aladdin4D to be upgraded but sadly that never happened. I did all I could to make it happen.

:(

Just to clarify since one person was confused. Pagestream was updated in 2010 for Windows and in 2012 for Mac OS X. It's the OS4 & MorphOS versions that have seen no updates in seven years. I thought I made that clear but I guess not.

It's actually becoming really irritating to see you publicly attacking Deron like this. Not because I have any sympathy for him but because you claim to be a professional company.

Can you not see that you are harming yourself more than him by dragging up every thread related to pagestream to go on the offensive.

Mod's note: Your problems with your developers are not best served on a Public Forum. Please do NOT toss around figures like this. It's rude, rather immoral and possibly libellous. Plus I ask you to refer to the request I made in post #49: don't grind your axes here. Thank you.

Still a personal issue & doesn't belong on a public forum, get a lawyer.

PGS 68k v5 was last updated 10-21-2010
