I've backed up my system partion (the second 2gb part of a 120gb Seagate hdd.. in the first part is my A4000T partion but it's not with me at the moment) and want to install PFS3. I'm going to use it with a new AmigaOS3.9 installation with FastATA1200MKIV. I'm not using any patched scsi.device since this has its own scsi.device made resident by the command Ata3.driver.

What I want to know is when should we install the directscsi version and would it have any drawback?

@Ancalimon

from what i remember, u should always use that ds version. the other has a DMA?? bug or large file copy issue?? I can't remember exactly sorry. the DS is also known to be slightly faster as well.

check with Piru or Michael. Source forge or Amiga.org

I believe the latest build by Michael and Piru have fixed many bugs, this could have also been fixed.

@thread

Anyone tried pfs3_aio released after the prior post in this thread?

I'm new to PFS, so I could use some advice.

A4000 AmigaOS3.9 install - Boing Bag 1&2 - updated ROM active - IDE drive.
I added both SFS and this new version of PFS to the available file systems.

Then I made a 4.4 Gig partition for FFS, same for SFS, same for PFS.

Formatting the FFS or SFS showed 4.4 Gig free.
Formatting the pfs_aio showed 4.1 Gig free.

What am I missing?
