| I found an old copy of iFusion and loaded it onto my AmigaOne. When I go to start the program, though, I get an error saying "Can't open warp.library". The documentation says that iFusion requires WarpOs V5 to run, and my warp.library is 5.1. I also tried putting the warp.library 5.0 in libs:, but that didn't work either.
Any ideas? It would be nice to have a working PPC MAC emulator on the AmigaOne!
Thanks,

It can't work, sorry. The API has changed too much for Jim Drew's hackery. Heck, it barely worked on the 4000 and didn't even work on a 1200! |

| I travelled down this road myself some years ago and it did work briefly with OS4.0 pre beta X (cant recall which). Hasnt worked for a long time though and probably wont again. Bit of a shame really, there's potentially some fun to be had there.

Bummer. Do we need a bounty for a port of MOL or something?_________________ All glory to the Hypnotoad! |

I guess so. A "MOOS4" (Mac On OS4) would rock. _________________ Philippe 'Elwood' Ferrucci Sam460 1.10 Ghz AmigaOS 4 betatester Amiga Translator Organisation |

| @scabit does fusion actually start ? Or is macos 9.1 -9.2.2 halting during boot ? Because sheepshaver does not have Fpu emu, it will only run up to os 9.0.4 higher requires an fpu present. maybe fusion is the same no fpu.
oh, and i'd contribute to a moos4 bounty. I don't have bsd port or linux port to play with on my 460. Last edited by Barana on 04-May-2012 at 10:36 AM.

No, iFusion stops and tells me it can't continue because the WarpOS version is correct.
Wonder if someone could do some hacking to get it to work. Wish I had the source code!

Just out of curiosity can Mac on Linux run on the Amigaone x1000?
Yet to free up time to install Linux on my machine, plus I don't know if it's worth it as I do just enjoy my amigaos system. _________________ AmigaNG, YouTube, LeaveReality Studio |

I looked into this, but Mac on Linux is 32-bit, and doesn't appear to be actively maintained. Linux on X1000 is 64-bit.
On the other hand, I was running AROS hosted on Linux on my X1000. |

it still says that using warposemu ? have u tried it using the correct version 68k warpos lib ? Have u blacklisted ifusion or warpos.library in petunia prefs ? Last edited by Barana on 05-May-2012 at 12:20 AM.

| i have another idea, petunia reports to a program that it is running on an 020; not that it can't do 030 or 040 instructions, but because its most compatible with the body of software out there. if fusion cant run on an a1200, it may break , thinking its running on an 020. If you can get petunia to report an040 to the software- iirc that can be done, ifusion may run.

ok so the 3.x api has changed too much to allow it to work. a solution without sourcecode? Is to write a uae warpos passthru so fusion can run in the 3.1 api, and 4.1 can take all the warpos context switches and run them on the ppc. . . Just gotta get a kindly uae developer to help out. . . _________________ Never underestimate the bandwidth of a station wagon full of tapes hurtling down the highway.

Probably not worth the effort if iFusion is already badly broken. |

Yes, I tried using WarpOS emulation, and get the "can't open warp.library" error.

I tried blacklisting iFusion, same error. I tried using the warp.library version 5.0 that came with iFusion. Doesn't work.

i'll have a0look at it soon on sunday. what does snoopdos say? Maybe it's trying to hit the ram address directly where warp.lib should be in an a4000? Is the author contactable ? Maybe he'll give u the source. _________________ Never underestimate the bandwidth of a station wagon full of tapes hurtling down the highway.

Hmm sounds like you guys are onto something here... it would be great to see Ifusion running. I did have it running on my old 4000T PPC like an imac but buggy.. dont think I got it fully running though. I remember selling it because It wasnt useful.
I wonder if Jim Drew and his partners would release the sources?
Now THAT would be a cool bounty! |
