Seems to make more sense to me that threads like this should have a lot more posts in them from OS4 users than those silly ones like "X86 Wars" or about the infamous vapourware Amiga netbook, especially if you want to get the message across to non OS4 users that there are indeed folk out their writing some really good software for OS4 and maybe even encourage others to join your ranks... ...

well said but talk is cheap, so when are you finally going to be a 4.1 (hopefully soon 4.2) user

@klx300r

Yup talk sure is cheap, that's why me being a canny Scotsman I use a hell of a lot of it (basically cos it's free)...

Honest answer though...

It would take some reasonably priced NEW OS4 hardware, a lot of new decent worthwhile software such as Broadblues is producing and internet capability that is fully functional to cope with the requirements of todays internet (ie: HD video, fully flash compliant etc..), for me to seriously move to OS4...

Until then, I'm happy with using my ancient old Amigas with 3.x and old software that I've spent years setting up and getting them to work/ do what I require from a computer...

The internet I'll leave to my new iMac as it's perfectly suited for that job whereas the Amiga isn't but then the internet is not a requirement using the Amiga under OS3.x...

Course it would be nice to have a new system running what I consider to be the best and most elegant OS ever that is the Amigas OS but also capable of handling fully the modern day internet and gfx and power enough for video editing on but until such a machine comes along that can do all that running OS4, then for me it's simply not worthwhile for me to change from my current Amiga & Mac set up...

Maybe one day it'll happen but best not to hold my breath until then...

@Franko

just remember that if 'we' all waited then there would be no need for new developers to bother at all.

active users= active community = active developers

Photogenics is still one of my favourite tools but it's not native, still has some bugs /instability and is no longer sold.

I should hopefully have some spare cash soon so I'll make a donation.

If it were commercial, how much would you pay, what would you need feature wise?

If it did at least everything Photogenics does than I'd happilly pay £40-£50 but it depends how other people would feel.

I'll have to see how 2.0 compares when's it available. I'll try to make a donation in the next few weeks anyway.

My goodness, that does look impressive. This will only serve to make the Amiga platform more appealing to all who are interested in the platform. Well done!

@all

Added Sketchblock to AmigaOS.net today - however the software description is a little abrupt if you ask me. So I devised a little fun competition for SketchBlock users.

Why are you insulting our intelligence and your own by pretending you will purchase os 4.1 and run it? Why do you do this? its kind of sad just stop it. All anyone has to do is look at your moobunny comments to validate this.

@broadblues

Thanks for all your hard work, much appreciated, top quality software, better than some commercial software me thinks

Question:

What graphics tablets that are currently available work with OS4 and SketchBlock? Sorry if this has ben talked about before but I must have missed it.

I bought a Trust tablet last year as a birthday present for myself and was quite pleased to learn that Photogenics also works well with it. I'm hoping that SketchBlock developes into a Photogenics killer.

I am looking to buy myself a graphic tablet for my birthday present too, which exact model do you have that works with both Photogenics (my all time favourite graphics program) and SketchBlock?

It's a Trust Sketch Design Tablet. I got a 200x150mm model but I'm sure the larger models will work just as well.

It's the same one but a smaller model than the one I've got. I'd recommend 200x150mm as a minimum. I'd have bought a bigger one had my budget allowed it at the time.

I've got a Wacom Bamboo tablet that works great with SketchBlock. There's also a thread over at amigans that lists quite a few other models.

While I understand you have problems and issues of your own making, I will only say...

I wasn't insulting anyones intelligence and it's blatantly obvious I can't insult something that you don't have...

One day perhaps when you finally manage to actually comprehend and understand the written language, you will be able to look back at my posts and realise that all these statements and claims you make about me only exist in your own mind and you will realise how pointless your utterings actually were...

The only sad thing here is you sir and your unhealthy obsession with me, so take your own advice and stop it... otherwise go take a long walk off a short plank... ta very much... and have a nice life...

@broadblues:
just wanted to mention that your software is taking quite nice shape (judging by the screenshots). i think it could become something like hd-rec is in its field, if alas only for os4, but nevertheless.

@klx300r

Is this the model you have? I take it it works with SketchBlock, do you know if it works with Photogenics too?

Could you point me to the thread over at Amigans as I can't seem to find it, thanks for your help and useful info
