I am just uploading my 1st theme to OS4depot [v0.1]... It is not final [for some reason AmiCygnX crashes on startup and MAME wont start too?] but it will be nice when arrive there, to try and test - and figure out - why programs crashes because of theme set?
|
Programs really should not crash because of the theme, unless your theme uses insanely huge images. (Which I assume not). There have been occasional reports of issues with certain themes though.

Anyway - I've also figured out now that SGrab saves IFF ILBM files [instead .png] - it just renames IFF to PNG. This will not be anything hard BUT none of the ILBM files are opening on a PC [!!??]
|
Well done for working out most of the tool types it seems though you may have got one wrong , SGrab definetly saves as PNG if you tell it to.
It's easier than you'd think, just add the PNG tool type on a seperate line.

Photoshop, Paint, ACDSee... none programs are opening [nor recognizing?] ILBM files :(
|
Two likely issues here.
1. Program doesn't support ILBM at all 2. Program doesn't support modern 32bit ILBM (which is what SGrab saves as).
I think all three programs you mention fall into catagory 1. GIMP comes in catogary 2. last time I tested.

How to set SGrab [in its icon settings] NOT to use IFF but to save as PNG??? To be honest I've never experienced that files shows well on Amiga and not opening at all on PC [even they appears in context menu as IFF, but cant look at it in 1:1 resolution] :

Add PNG by itself on one line. Similarly JPG saves as a jpeg. Both is an error.
The file sys:utilities/sgrab/sgrab.guide has a complete list of options in the Configuration and Usage section.
BTW you can use allkeys to set the 'screenshot key' to work in a windozesque manner via SGrab's arexx port.
AREXX PORT SGRAB
ARXCOMMAND GRABSCREEN PNG "ram:{title}_{number}.{type}"
(not tested might need to tweek the command)

Perfect!!! Adding PNG as single line after reboot really grabs as PNG!
To be honest I would never in my life think on adding PNG text in icon and make SGrab to save as PNG. :)
Thank you all! Kicko, you too :) _________________ nykk | deetronic.rs | youtube.com/djnykk | gfx.river | mamavolibebu.com |

I just tried you theme.
Couple of (hopefully constructive) criticsms:
1. It seams to overwrite my Workbench Prefs for no reason. This is a pain because it undoes my title bar setup and shows a heap of hidden volumes. Reverting it to my standard setup doesn't appear to make any cosmetic change, so I wonder why you overwrite it for you theme. Bear in mind that the Workbwench pattersn are controlled in a seperate prefs file.
2. Icon font doesn't view very well on my monitor. Wihite font with black outline doesn't show well against your dark background.
3. You've made the selected item in a listbrowser white, that's fie in standard listbrowsers, but then your choice of colours for filer, has white (or near white) as one of the unslected colours so it's hard to see whats selected ot not.
I can't see anything obvious as to why the theme should cause something not to work, it looks fairly normal.

Are you new to the concept of tooltypes (ie. "text in icon") on Amiga? :)
BTW, I guess SGrab w/should normally save this for you, when you set it in the GUI and save... So you would not need to worry about the "internals". ;)
