@djnick

Looks just like Windows XP. Can you make the Browser look like Internet Explorer 8 too?

@persia

For me it looks like MacOSX influence, whit horizontal lines.

If you won't to contribute I suggest you design your own look, all borders has to be PNG images, corners, top, bottom, left, right, background texture.

No graphics from other operating systems excepted, due to copyrights.

@NutsAboutAmiga

I've sent you [or Marko?] long time ago packed graphics in archive file and got response that programmer can`t use it because program only supports Amiga .icon graphics [!?]... I've been searching and couldn`t find any program that could convert transparent PNG or PSD files to Amiga .icon... even there are several Save-To-Amiga plugins for Photoshop...

Theme I choose to draw was not MAC influenced, I just love 1:1 stripes in background.

cmon, amiga ".icon" must be just .png renamed to .info or something like that, does it need to take months to find that out?

@djnick

Only the Excalibur “Start” icon has to be icon, because its a toolbar, but its easy to make icons from png files.

http://www.os4depot.net/index.php?function=showfile&file=graphics/convert/pngicon2amiga.lha

Every thing else work as PNG ARGB 32bit, I use GIMP and Paint.Net to do the work.

@wawa

Thats on Morphos and AROS, on AmigaOS4 you need to first download a plugin module for icon.library, or convert the icon into a AmigaOS4 icon.

@djnick

Does this help :

http://os4depot.net/index.php?function=showfile&file=graphics/convert/pngicon2amiga.lha

@wawa

you are wrong with this png/.info thing. I didn't know that you are OS4 expert also.. not just one regular "hate OS4 and everything that belongs to it" guy? You are willing to use djnick's theme with your OS4 machine? or why you are interested?

Mac would never have a stupid thing like a flopup start menu, even Microsoft has abandoned it.

@persia

I don't see what contribution you're trying to make on this topic, or way you are even her, your two last comments shows me, your not here to be nice, so reported you for flaming.

Again if you're not happy whit what I'm making or someone else is doing you should start making something yourself instead.

If you want to be constructive you should explain what you don't like about instead saying it stupid or puke or whatever.

i don't use this thing as it reminds me too much of Windows and some linux distros but some people want their AmigaOS to look like it and i am ok with that.

@utri007

I don't always share or agree with wawa but he entitled to his views as long as his views are grounded, his comment was not off topic, or rude. I do not expect everyone to be always right or experts on every subject, if he is enjoying the topic then I that that’s all fine by me, I don't care what OS he uses.

i think using excalibur is a matter of taste as using desktop backgrounds, startup jingles and particular skins. i personally don think i have much use or interest in it, and didnt contributed here, but others obviously have. now, elwood asked a valid question, and at last. i would have asked it myself earlier but i knew what comments it would provoke and let it be. i think it is only right to demand appointed return for a favour. there is too much wasted funds and efforts in vain already.

@wawa

Sorry wawa, but I'm suspicious about you motives. your contribution for several OS4 thread gives me a image that you just spread angst and angryness against OS4. You also hinted netbook thread that you have OS4, so you should know how to icons works with it.

I would say that you were rude for djnick

@utri007

accepted. i dont cheer much about os4, sorry, there is already enough of that considering the circuumstances. and its quite mindless at times. yes i have os4. even found the package lately among my cds, but i dont use it anymore. my experience with skinning are rather with aros/afa_os, so i assumed it must be the same on mos and os4. but bnevertheless i was not much mistaken in case of excalibur as it seems. and even if you have to convert the pngs with a tool (sure, its pita, i started few skins, finished none) why its so difficult to find out how to do it, the answer was just one post away, in this very thread. i dont see much motivation here.

@wawa

Usually graphics artist deliver his part a any useable/non archived format to coder/publisher. Coder usually gives a palette, etc if he has a some graphics already.

Personally I don't like these Windows style start bars, I wouldn't ever instal one to my amiga/s. They just don't feel right.
