Hi All,

I've been putting together a list of commercial ( and shareware) software still for sale. I've grouped the list in to the Active and Inactive buckets. I'm hoping to get some help and fill in the names of any active for pay software out there.

Cheers,
Tekmage

@tekmage

If you want any links to former commercial software that is available freely now, let us know.

Sorry, from your post I'm not sure if that falls in another category than what you've listed.

you might want to add alinea's software to your list. i don't really know, though, what you consider 'active' vs 'inactive' in this case. for example they are working on a wholly reworked storm c, but that hasn't been announced. and they've had updates to amiphoto, anotice, and amiwebview in recent years. they also sell amigawriter -- but that hasn't been updated since 2000. you've already got arteffect listed.

i suppose you could also add discreetfx's aladdin 4D under the inactive section. and under the active section you can add bill eaves's digital universe, who should have v1.7 shipping soon. don't forget the hyperion titles with recent updates, quake II and freespace.

also: what is your position on ports? for example aquaria is now available for OS4 and is commercial, but did not originate on the platform. you could also include freespace 2 if under that category.

edit: i forgot a few: turboprint is still available, although development ceased in 2004; you can also purchase imageFX and photogenics as well, although both are inactive.

ironically audio evolution was a good one for your list, but has now been released as freeware.

AFAIK ArtEffect4 and AmigaWriter are still commercially available at www.vesalia.de.

ArtEffect4: http://www.vesalia.de/d_arteffect4.htm
ArtEffect-Plugins: http://www.vesalia.de/d_aeplugins.htm
AmigaWriter: http://www.vesalia.de/d_amiwriter.htm
The invaluable Amiga Develeoper CD: http://www.vesalia.de/d_developer2.htm

APC-TCP has CygnusED 5 Pro, AmiAtlas 6 available.

DigiBoosterPro is still around (and I hope some years more... ).

Photogenics used to be available at http://www.digitalriver.com/dr/v2/ec_MAIN.Entry10?SP=10023&PN=1&xid=39935&V1=371386&DSP=&CUR=840&PGRP=0&CACHE_ID=0

However, that link (and any others I can find on Google for other versions of Photogenics) just redirects to the Digital River homepage. Links on Idruna.com have a similar problem, including one that goes to e-junkie instead of digitalriver.

I suspect an email to Paul Nolan would quickly reveal the correct link if it is still available. He may not even be aware the links are broken.

PageStream

Taking into account the fact that the OS4-native PageStream 5 has been sold for YEARS without actually working plausibly, the program should be considered scam and rip-off rather than commercial software.

i think someone ran into this problem over on EAB -- but i forgot the outcome. in any case our friends in chicago list photogenics through their 'project metropolis' page, although i don't know if anyone can actually buy it from them or if it's a placeholder.

@DiscreetFX

can you comment on the photogenics situation?

In theory there is AmiPhoto: http://www.alinea-computer.de/software/seiten/amiphoto_uk.php
(don't know if it will work under OS4.1

AmiWebView 2: http://www.alinea-computer.de/software/seiten/amiwebview_uk.php
ANotice 2: http://www.alinea-computer.de/software/seiten/anotice_uk.php

Edit:
@eliyahu
oh over saw your post ;)
I heard that they are working on a bigger update für AmiPhoto.(it was mid 2011) So it might not be as dead as it looks right now.

@eliyahu

I'm looking for software that's under active development and there are folks to support to continue that work.

I'm shocked at how few commercial packages are truly left. Just means we all need to work hard to support these developers even more!

Are there any more out there?

Other games:
Wordmeup by Glames
Swamp Defense and other Amiboing's games
1941 DX by Huno PPC

P.S.: don't know if shareware may be considered "commercial" in such a small market

"Imagine" from CAD Technologies. If you want it you have to pay. I don't think it's changed for several years.
