| Anyone else have issues with logging onto password protected sites?
On all the Amiga sites I am fine but some of my other non computer sites where I order from, I type name and password and the website seems to ignore me as not logged in.
Are there certain sites that OWBmui has issues with?
Seems to work at many sites but a couple I go to no such luck.
Is there some check box or setting I need to use to make this work or just a web browser web page conflict?

Well it's obviously supposed to work. Any example of a site not working as it should? In any case, it would most likely be a cookie-related issue.

Will not allow me to log on.
Same goes for the non forum account where I have an account to buy goods.

I created an account. It works fine (on MorphOS). Maybe it was a bug in 1.9. |

I have the same problem with the OS4 MUI OWB and amigans.net. It won't let me log in on that site, though I'm not having the difficulty with any other site that I frequent.
Been meaning to ask about it or send Kas1e, but keep forgetting to do so. Maybe I need to clear our cookies or something like that? Last edited by mbrantley on 02-May-2012 at 03:36 AM.

| logicalheart suggested removing cookies from a problematical site.
I happened to see that before posting my own problem, namely that lately I had not been able to get on to my credit union or to Paypal from mui-owb. I was able to get both with TimberWolf, but I'm close to 77 and can't afford the time!
Then I had an impulse to try the other OWB, which has caused similar problems in the past, and to my pleasant surprise, I could get both sites.
Then I read the posts about deleting cookies, and I deleted the ones associated with the sites in question from mui-owb, and was able to load both sites from it!
I'm puzzled. I had this (probably very strange?) idea that one *needed* the cookies to log on. What's the true story?

just because you have deleted the OLD (and probably corrupted) cookies.
When you have successfully logged in, a brand new cookie has been created.

Wow! We don't get many questions around here that I can answer.
Try the Windows menu.
They're also in muiowb/Conf/cookieCollection.db, maybe, if you know what to do with a .db file or what SQLite is. I sure don't. |

| Is there also a CACHE to empty in OWB?
I just checked each menu and don't find this option.
I will try removing the cookie though for this one site I am having issues with.

| Anyone else have success?
I still have the same issues after emptying the cookies so I take it this is a bug and version issue that maybe the next version of OWBmui will take care of?

I'm having this problem. In fact, I just tried to reply to your topic and MuiOWB kept "losing" my login and AmigaWorld told me I didn't have rights to post in this forum! Thankfully there's always IBrowse...
I noticed this a few weeks ago, on Yahoo & LinkedIn. I would log in, the site would accept my login, then prompt me to log in again.
I think MuiOWB is having major problems with cookies. It may've maxed out. This prompted me to investigate clearing them out...
Wow, and I thought IBrowse had a poor interface for dealing with cookies! For a long time IBrowse wouldn't let you multi-select cookies to delete. The users complained, and the dev team eventually improved it.
MuiOWB not only doesn't allow you to multi-select cookies, you have to open each root name before you can delete anything. :(
I could delete all, but there are cookies that I want to keep. _________________ --------------- AmigaOne X5000 P5020 2Ghz, OS 4.1 AmigaOne XE G4 800mhz, OS 4.1 A1200T 40Mhz 68040, OS 3.9 |

Might be the OS4 version has major issues, but hey, current version is 1.16 in MorphOS now... And it has no issue with these sites.
Poor interface? Well, you can search by cookie and delete either a particular cookie or a domain. It's not like you have tons of cookies to delete for a particular site. And if you feel the interface sucks so much, you can always use a sqlite client and deal with the entries yourself. :) |

I am also having this problem, with a site I never logged onto before with my Amiga, so I don't have an old cookie for the site. The Reaction version of OWB works fine for the affected site, so that's what I use when I need to go there.
Before I get the question: the affected site is private to the camera club I belong to. It's not free for anyone to create an account and experiment.

No, just tons of cookies to delete for lots of different sites.

Or use a different browser... ...or platform...
