Here is one game I would like to play on OS4.2 if & when released,I don't think I would enjoy it as much if played on a PC.

@delshay,

Legend of Grimrock is a software that required a strong configuration and a high end video card...
This game make an intensive use of Shaders

Of course AmigaOS4 can handle that kind of video games (dungeon crawler) but not with a such high quality.

Kindest Regards,

Crisot is working on a Warp3D based dungeon crawler at the moment.

I slightly disagree with "strong configuration", it's fully playable on my 1.6GHz dual core intel atom & nvidia ion in 1920x1200. Sure, not full details and not as smooth as it could be (doesn't matter that much for such a game anyway) - perhaps could make it run smoother by lowering gfx details, but I rather have it look nicer

But indeed, it does require shader support. That's the major showstopper for now (except for AROS). Well, after being closed source, of course

Nvidia Ion is new generation high performance video card ...
When you are in corridors with 3 or 4 monsters and move/fight to avoid hits .. it became difficult if the game is not smooth ... More to this, if you play "mods" for this game ... some of them are slow even on my own PC configuration : i3-2100 CPU @ 3.1 Ghz + Geforce GTS 250...

So, you disagree with me but you've just confirmed what I said upper :

, Of course it implicitely contain (at maximum details)
So, you have to lower quality at the minimum to make it playable correctly on your PC... That was in some sort ... what I said concerning Amiga ... We'll have less graphics quality to make it playable on AmigaNG. (our Amiga NG are in major part not as strong as your and mine PC)

@djrikki

I have been playing the game on my Linux box and bought it as part of one of the recent Humble Bundles which means DRM free and versions exist for Windows, Linux and Mac OS X.

Weird. I always assumed it was the low power, embedded GPU it was marketed as, and thus weaker than any "sold as high end" GPU's of its time...

Also, I find it weird how unlike others, this single GPU released back in 2009 is still considered "high performance". Don't most other gfx cards become "old generation" and "medium performance" within year of the release? Ion is already almost 4 years old.

-EDIT-
Also, all benchmarks I read before buying this system have been totally wrong, without exception, they ALL showed Ion as significantly slower as the so-called "high end" gfx cards of the time.

Well in any case, I guess you know better

Seriously though, of course it's still rather capable GPU, unless you want to run the latest games (with exception on games like Grimrock), especially at full detail.

Also, it's VERY high performance, if compared to all cards used with AmigaOS4 & MorphOS, with hardware accelerated 3D support.

(Doesn't make much sense to compare, as because it's nvidia, there will never be proper "official" support for any minor platform)

I based my judgment for this video card from this page : http://www.nvidia.fr/object/sff_ion.html

It's simply what I intended to say. no more :p we now understand I think :)

Ion is basically a GF9400 coupled with an ATOM. Faaaar from high performance :)
Even a dedicated gf9400 was never considered high performance. It was a budget card barely considered usable for gaming 4 years ago.

Theyre still nice little machines, but quite humble spec wise.
Still though, as alluded to, compared to any ppc "amiga" system theyre graphical powerhouses :)

As for OP, yeah this game looks really nice. Good to see a few people delving into some classic genres and sprucing them up
