Enjoying the Cinemaware games a lot!

I went to the Hyperion web page and logged on as an official Amiga OS4.1 owner, and was presented with a menu of classic Cinemaware games to download for use with RuninUAE on my AmigaOne.
The downloads went flawlessly and I really like both the nice game icons and the PDF manuals for each game! A simple double click on the game icon starts runinUAE, and after loading, the games begin in a new screen on OS4.
Thanks so much for making this so seamless and fun! No need to configure or reconfigure anything....just double click the game icon and it works.
I also got to play The Three Stooges, which I had not played except on a friend's Amiga back in the day...as well as Antheads, the sequel to It Came From the Dessert. Great game!

Thanks Hyperion for making these games so easy to use and available to OS4 users!

They shouldn't run slow on a peg2. Check your UAE settings. How do you run the emulator? Which resolution does it use?
For these games it is enough to emulate only the OCS chip set, a 68020 cpu with some real fast ram on a 640x400 display.

I think it must be It Came From the Desert. The first one I ever owned was of course Defender of the Crown....but after winning that game a few times and figuring out the winning strategies, it quickly becomes boring.

What's your favroite?

If you see the UAE Workbench come up and then the WHDLOAD window, then the game starts to load and you get a Guru or a system reset, it may be because you are using an invalid or pirated WHDLoad key file. If this is the case, delete the WHDLoad key file from S: or L: or wherever it may be and try again.
Otherwise, it could be not having RuninUAE setup properly on your AmigaOne.

Wow, they actually run too fast on mu 800 MHz micro A1 unless I tweak the settings to slow things down a bit. Are you using the version of E-UAE that came with RuninUAE?

Run amigupdate again. My problem was amiga input, some how it was failing with joystick. I needed to remove joystic config manually env/system/amigainput

It was giving me dsi erros always when I started game/software wich supports joystick.

Try to eliminate everything catweasel related in DEVS: (i.e. moving to STORAGE:) - except you actually have a Catweasel installed.

@cha05e90

Yes, there was a bug in the released version (which was my fault) and didn't show up except on some machines after the release. Most of the time it's fine.
Just delete the catweasel file in libs:amigainput/.

I have a replacement but you can just as easily fix it by deleting it.

Reminds me - I need to get a new version of that file out but I need to test it again...

Edit: To be clear, devs:catweasel.device is fine - it's just the PCI_Catweasel driver in LIBS:AmigaInput/ that doesn't clean up properly.

@all

anyone gotten an error when trying to save a game in Antheads - AmigaDOS says that there is a fatal error writing to the disk. I thought that RuninUAE set up a blank formatted floppy for use in saving games.
Is there something I need to do to access it - perhaps use CTRL-F1 to switch disks? Since Antheads is a WHDLoad game, I didn't think it would use the floppy drives at all but install itself on the hard disk somewhere.

By default WHDload cannot save because runinUAE makes HD appear as read-only. You need to chance filesystem settings in "uaerc_RunInUAE" config file. Just change ro to rw where your games are.

Ahhh.. that makes sense for some things I have been seeing lately. Why was this done? For the sake of preventing possible viruses from old 68k Amiga programs?

In manual it says "for safety" reasons, but I don't know what they actually are. I never had any problems by allowing write operations. It's nice to have games saving high scores etc.
