Sketch Block 2.0 beta screen shot.

Here's a sneak preview of the work I've been doing on SketchBlock of late.

Full size shot available here:

The new SketchBlock has been upgraded to use ARGBFloat colour rathar than ARGB32. This gives an enormoise range of colour options, smoother blending and gradients, and allows processing of HD images. (import code still a WIP) it also speeds painting up by 14% as much of the internal code used floating point arithmetic and there now no need to convert back and forth all the time.

Transforms such as rotate, and flip vertical / horizontal are also introduced as well as a new colour selection window, gamma adjust etc etc

This new update make your program more fantastic and perfect, only that in my case I haven't time to use it, but it is a great program for Amiga OS4.

I bought a Trust tablet last year as a birthday present for myself and was quite pleased to learn that Photogenics also works well with it. I'm hoping that SketchBlock developes into a Photogenics killer.

@broadblues

Is SketchBlock going to a commercial app?

@ All

Just an opinion/ observation here from a non OS4 miggie user... (well very little use of OS4 user)...

This is the kind of thread OS4 users should be talking about (especially here on the front page) and not silly age old "debates" about which processor you think OS4 should run on ie: ARM, x86 and all that nonsense which is beyond your control anyway...

Broadblues is obviously spending a lot of time and hard work developing his SketchBlock program and even I've gotta admit it looks good, damned good....

I enjoy reading about developments like this as it's something that is real and will be/ is actually available to OS4 users...

Seems to make more sense to me that threads like this should have a lot more posts in them from OS4 users than those silly ones like "X86 Wars" or about the infamous vapourware Amiga netbook, especially if you want to get the message across to non OS4 users that there are indeed folk out their writing some really good software for OS4 and maybe even encourage others to join your ranks...

Like I say just an observation from someone whom tends to see all those same old threads/ debates getting repeated over and over again while threads like this hardly get much response in comparison when they really deserve more interaction from OS4 users...

Fair comments. It's often frustrated me that the bread and butter gets ignored while people are busy arguing about the plate.

I don't want to "kill" any apps, I'm trying to make sketchblock as interoperable as possible. Hence my support for ImageFX magic interface (although having supported I'm disppointed that imagefx itself has rather poor suport for it )

I'm also working towards macro recording.

Not at the moment. I don't think I can justify the time commitment required for that. I've put a lot of time inot and intend to continue, but at the moment I can drop it for more inportant things at a moments notice, if people had paid for a copy, that would less easy to do.

Donations are always welcome though (thanks to those who have).

If it were commercial, how much would you pay, what would you need feature wise?
