I don't about making it look like Photoshop but I do remember that it's Photshop import is not good, photoshop uses a lot of vector stuff, that you'd never realise were vectors till you try and import it into GIMP and half of it disappears. So if you are working with photoshop files as source, you just wont want to hop between programs.
And GIMP on amicygnix is unusably slow.
You would be better of using VNC to access your PC (or vice verca)

Yes I know it is slow, but it would be great if it can be somehow done to look and act as close to Photoshop as it can be. I wouldn't import PSDs [I know non-destructive effects are missing], but at least same keyboard shortcuts could work [and probably improved layout?] _________________ nykk | deetronic.rs | youtube.com/djnykk | gfx.river | mamavolibebu.com |

making gimp under amicygnix look like photoshop and insisting on working with it is a brilliant idea to push os4 forward. could you once take care of a job you were appointed to? Last edited by wawa on 26-May-2013 at 10:49 PM. Last edited by wawa on 26-May-2013 at 10:48 PM.

I would think the second link which makes Gimp ACT like photoshop would be more important than the first and second which are more about how it LOOKS.
But personally I would think an experience PS user would be most frustrated with differences in keyboard shortcuts, and I really don't know if that's something you can customise. I figure it must be internationalised, but translation packs for Linux and Windows software has not, alas, traditionally been something for the faint of heart to mess around with. _________________ This weeks pet peeve: Using "voltage" instead of "potential", which leads to inventing new words like "amperage" instead of "current" (I, measured in A) or possible "charge" (amperehours, Ah or Coulomb, C). Sometimes I don't even know what people mean. |

No its overall idea to push GIMP to be more user friendly to what people are used to on Windows, Linux, and yes AmigaOS 4. Common work settings aids creativity.

It is fast enough on a Sam 460 too, when the settings have been made correctly _________________ Amiga600/Vampire2/PrismaMegaMix |
