| There seems to be a glince of hope for me again to buy a used but very good A1G4XE-system by some of the users here selling them in the Classified-section..
I can only hope that i will find the ideal seller whom wants to sell the system to me. I am going to be very, very carefull this time, but it's also possible that i want to go for water-cooling, and to have the A1G4XE to run at 1133Mhz (which would be 1.133Ghz, as i understand)..
As to soundcards, i am thinking about going for ESIs, as i have a Digital 5.1 Surround-equipment with digital cables..
I know that you react with fear, but i am going to let the experts handle this for me. I will only care about what i know and can :)
I really miss the Amiga...It's something very special compared to PC...
This is one of many reasons why i miss the Amiga system. Check out here..

keep it simple Helgis! If you can buy a system and it works fine from the start why mess with it.
Side note: how about you put your systems up for sale....maybe someone can use the parts?

Thanks for the warning. Yeah, i am pretty much aware of that. I will keep it extremely careful. Know this has been said before, but i will let the RIGHT people handle this thing for me..
Well, i might have some parts for selling, but i will have to come back to that.. _________________ Helge K. Leaving the Amiga in favour of a PC.. |

Well, i know that 1Ghz was the maximal, most successful speedup to do. I remember i had that and that was never a problem, until i happened to be interested in higher speed than that, and let a fool knowing nothing about Amiga try to do something. That ruined everything!

I feel the need to remind you that no support is offered for any machine clocked over 800 Mhz.
Sorry to repeat an old post and reply, but it is necessary for your protection:

Don't worry. It's a 7455 G4 which actually runs at 933Mhz, but has been underclocked to 800Mhz. I wonder who to get it to the actual 933Mhz, among other things
Rogue:
*sighs*
You don't get the point. Your machine is sold as an 800 Mhz machine. The CPU on it *might* (if you do it correctly) run at 933 Mhz. That does not mean, though, that the rest of the system (especially the core voltage and cooler) are suited for that.
When will you folks finally learn that there IS NO 933 Mhz AmigaOne? It is an 800 Mhz machine. If you overclock it, you are going to run the risk of doing severe damage.
As Matt says, if you cannot get it to run at 933 without tricks, you should really ask yourself why this is the case. |

Send the CPU module straight to ACube for a 1.267 Ghz upgrade, It'll save you the trouble of having to burn out the current CPU first. |

And you are probably right about that, but i guess that 1Ghz is the most stable and still pretty damn fast for doing most things without problem, and then you have Altivec..
Who knows, maybe with the latest updates to OS4 Final, things fly like the fastest jets! _________________ Helge K. Leaving the Amiga in favour of a PC.. |

Both the old A1-systems was sold to a person whom wanted to experiment with them. I only have the tower and the harddrives/GFX/Soundcard i used. The harddrives have the Pre4 OS4 installed. Gonna be a lot of job to install the very latest Final OS4 with updates..
But first i need a motherboard...

If you get it, DO NOT CONNECT A KEYBOARD. SEAL THE CASE WITH EPOXY!

Better wait for ACK's "Power Design" which will be released in Winter 2007. |

Ok, there is great hope, and i am ready for April 2008 to buy a used AmigaOne, as long as there is no new hardware, so it should be interesting
I will also contact ACube to get myself a 1.267Ghz 7457 G4 CPU-module, and probably allow the A1G4XE to run 2GB memory. Looking forward to it! _________________ Helge K. Leaving the Amiga in favour of a PC.. |

The problem is that it was never released, and i am not even sure if this one will appear. If it does, however, it would be great... _________________ Helge K. Leaving the Amiga in favour of a PC.. |

What? How come you have doubts that ACK will release the "Power Design", just because it's a few months late? I tell you, that's nothing in Amigaland. Just wait and see. It's the North American "Can do" attitude that will allow Adam to manage the unthinkable!
Just imagine the performance level you get when you overclock the P.A. Semi PWRficient PA6T-1682M dual core 64 bit CPUs from 2Ghz to a whopping 3 Ghz! Now how does that sound? |

brilliant and a win-win
Helgis this is the way to go.
