| I personally just want to say that my AmigaOne X1000 AmigaOS4.x system is so stable and reliable that I just can't even fault it; I don't know if it is technical, luck or just good old AmigaOS "spirited" Karma but it's real and that's very cool =)
special mention goes to the 7970 RadeonHD Card which has proven its worth many times over - awesome merger of technology I say
Well done Trevor, well done! also a deep thanks to those other individuals (and teams of) that helped in the back ground and are still helping now to improve and secure the future history of our wants and desires in Amiga Hardware and Software solutions...
Just thought I'd put something sincerely positive out there for those inclined to enjoy, relate or understand to or hmm, add too?
We aren't done are we Trevor?
p.s. don't mean to leave out ACubes SAMs either, very very reliable and stable systems, I have always used one of my Flex systems to mirror one of my X1000s for serial logging and as a companion

I'm interested to know how long it takes to boot? Also how long from power on to you see a logo? And what is your preferred file-system of choice? |

50 sec to WB, but most don't turn it off, so zero sec, a soft reset takes 10 sec. Longer boot times are a penalty for using a modern gfx card. Personally I turn mine on & only turn it off when done for the day. _________________ Hate tends to make you look stupid... |

What about having 7 (seven!) AmigaOS 4 systems owned!
That is a world record _________________ OS 3.x AROS and MOS supporter, fi di good, nothing fi di unprofessionalism. Learn it harder way! SinclairQL and WII U lover :D YT http://www.youtube.com/user/rasvoja |

somehow it reminds me of a popular rhyme: "I'm the operator with my pocket calculator" how appropriate, i wonder if pressing down a special key it plays a little melody.Last edited by wawa on 23-May-2013 at 07:37 PM. Last edited by wawa on 23-May-2013 at 07:36 PM.

Its good to see people are pleased with what they have, instead of what they don`t have (this goes to much of software and hardware nagging). Only way forward is to support what is available, be it Amiga Forever, AROS, MorphOS or AmigaOS 4. In fact, supporting OS4 is kind of adventurous, since it requires dedicated hardware and most money of mentioned choices, which is not always the best. While in fact, it doesn`t yet offer that much.
But to be honest, all sweat, nerves breakdowns and money dedication in past will easily be forgotten if OS 4.2 is to offer modern features. Meanwhile, its good to see someone satisfied with system and AmigaOS performance. Specially since it comes from heavy Classic users judging by that heavily expanded Amiga 4000._________________ OS 3.x AROS and MOS supporter, fi di good, nothing fi di unprofessionalism. I'm sure it could with the FKey commodities program. _________________ Hate tends to make you look stupid... |

I do the same with mine. I've even left mine on for a couple of days when I forgot about it. It is so quiet. There is not much of anything to remind you that it is on after the screen goes blank except for the difficult to see power button light at the top front. My X1000 case is setting on the top of a desk in the corner so I cannot see that power light unless I am standing up in front of it. Instead I glance at the audio speaker system light on the volume control cord which I place near the keyboard.
This is a great system. I am glad I got it._________________ Moxee AmigaOne X1000 AmigaOne XE G4 I'd agree with you, but then we'd both be wrong. |

| Nice to hear some nice talk =)
I'll add a few replies
@Hypex
Haven't timed it recently, since it's never felt long enough to investigate, definately less than a min
All my partitions are JXFS except for the boot partition which is SFS
@Amiga_3k
yes, I'm a firm believer in getting at least 2 of anything worth while, don't think if think when, when you might need a backup for any reason... besides the cool factor is/was hard to ignore
@vox
I do have an original AmigaOne G3 too but one day it turned on to a black screen so I disassembled it and it has been in storage ever since. There's not enough room in the signature these days to list it anyway but yes as it stands 7 could be a record

I was only entertaining it for a mere moment
LOL
I do know a couple of people in our ranks with a various selection of hardware with AmigaOS4.x capabilities!
with that Slayer disappears and you can hear him rumaging out the back trying to breath life into his AmigaOne G3 to get the count up to 8 _________________ ~Yes I am a Kiwi, No, I did not appear as an extra in 'Lord of the Rings'~ 1x AmigaOne X5000 2.0GHz 2gM RadeonR9280X AOS4.x 3x AmigaOne X1000 1.8GHz 2gM RadeonHD7970 AOS4.x |

That's a good time. Yes mine takes about 10 seconds to reboot WB. But your 50 is pretty good. What sort of gfx card do you have? My X1000 takes 1:40 to get to WB! Too long! Almost a minute longer than yours.
When my X1000 boots as fast as my 40 second A1 it will take it's place. |
