Got my copy of OS4.1 today from AmigaKit as part of my order Of OS4.1 + SAM440 from AmigaKit but still no sign of my SAM yet and the availability date has slipped a number of times now already, has anyone else received some from the new patch yet?

The first stock date amigakit was showing for the SAM was the 18th, then 24th now it the 27th arg.

I hope we are not going to end up with a situation were a lot of people like me have copies of OS4.1 and no SAM440 to run it on and other people have SAM440s but no OS4.1 to run on it, so if you are in the same position as me or have a SAM440 and no OS4.1 why not post and share the wait together.

I have been killing time using winUAE and reading Amigaworld how have other people been dealing with the wait?

@Dwyloc

we've been waiting for new hardware for god knows how long, and when it's finally available, Acube and hyperion don't make sure there's more than enough for the first run......thats absolutely hilarious!!! now some users will get totally ####ed off and leave the amigascene behind........because they've had enough waiting already, and can't stand even small things like this - but what the heck.....5-10 users who's had enough......who needs them? - acube and hyperion should have told us how many boards was available, and then sold the first batch on a first come/first serve basis, then they wouldn't have ####ed off anybody. The companies trying to keep us as customers surely needs a better understanding of their customers mood.

Oh and while we're at it why is it that Acube or hyperion haven't made a deal about a great looking case for the new board...........are they totally unaware that the only thing left we amigans want is a GREEEEEEEAT case with a boing ball nicely placed........heck why not make a boingball case!!!!!!

I think theres too many amateurish decisions made by ALL amiga companies, including acube and hyperion.........got damn your customers scream for hardware, an os, and a great looking amiga'ish case, and you serve us some stuff to assemble our selves......what??????? are you totally uncapable of seeing the buisness to be made here.......as a complete solution!! - Wake up!!!!!

AND TO AMIGA INC........EVEN MORE WAAAAAAAAAAAKE UP!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

@kreciu

I first thought the wait was over then I got my copy of OS4.1 for classics, but it turned out to be a bit slow to really enjoy a lot of the new OS4 apps and not compatible enough to run old games so I mainly boot OS3.9 on it.

So I went back to waiting.....

Almost a year later I now have a copy of OS4.1 ordered with new faster hardware to run it on but still no sine of the hardware to run it on.....

But as I have already paid my money I will just go back to waiting some more....

At least this year I did get a new Amiga in the form of a Minimig, Its not perfect but is a good start....

So I may not be running OS4.1 yet but at lest I can play lotus in style on my minimig in its shiny black case with my modern TFT panel

@Dwyloc

I got mine from Amikit a couple of days ago (in fact this is my first port from my new Amiga!)

If it is any consolation, Amikit had shown it being pending for a long while, then received about 10 days before I got it, being picked (8 days) packed (7) and shipped (5) before it hit my home. (may have the actual terminology wrong btw)

I live in Florida, so that gives you a better idea on shipping.

I liked their status changes, really made it exciting for me when I saw some progress. I THINK I ordered at the end of the first batch...

@all

Be patient, be patient. We were waiting for new hardware for years, for some days more it's not worth it to argue.

Well next time you can float them a loan to make sure they can afford to do a survey and evaluation of the true expected customer base ahead of time. They can also use your loan to make sure that they can afford to make more units than they expect to sell, etc. Just so no one needs to wait at all. And with any money left over they can design and build a case too.

Its a frigging hobby market. We are lucky they even bother. No one there will get rich over this. Since they are bothering people deserve good service nonetheless. But you are being unreasonable, to put it mildly.

If you want a built system, buy from a dealer who does built systems.

Sorry everyone I was not trying to start a fight I am only trying to find out how many people have now got their SAM440's.

How many other people if any have now received there copies of OS4.1 for SAM.

And finally how many people here now have both.

Its just a bit frustrating to have prepaid and only receive part of the puzzle... But at least I can start reading my OS4.1 manual so I will be ready to start installing when I get the rest of the puzzle

I already have my Case, 2 120GB 2.5" sata disks (one for OS4 and one for Linux) and a slim line DVD writer here waiting all I needed was a board and a copy of OS4.1 but AmigaKit are/were taking preorders for both thats why I ordered from them.

I have also purchased lots of Amiga stuff from them in the past and they have proved themselves to be very reliable, so I have no desire to spend my money else were.

Yes on the positive side at least I can't now be left with a SAM440 and no copy of OS4 to run on it if the court case has an unfavourable outcome.

Which was something I was a bit concerned about when the availability dates first started slipping.

An I see no reason why ACube can't make more boards no mater what the outcome of the court case is.

Note: I don't want to start talking about the court case here and who should win and why that has already been cover in other threads.

@Dwyloc

I'm sure it won't be long now? I have always found AmigaKit to be very reliable.
