@Flystone

What I know is, if the Amiga Netbook doesn't appear soon, I will be spending my netbook budget on some other brand netbook, cause I need to read scanned old Amiga magazines in bed, before sleep.

@Flystone

Seems AmigaOS 4.2 has priority because of X1000 and all of us. Then after OS 4.2 release we can expect nettbook edition (working drivers and support within OS 4.2)

This is not real information, but intelligent guess

@Flystone

It's a LimePC netbook with a e300 core. Go look on their website. There really isn't much mystery here.

@vox

As the history shows, working drivers and Software for AmigaOS are not necessary to release the Amiga hardware.

When the BlizzardPPC and CyberstormPPC boards were released the software was virtually non existing.

The first AmigaOne computers came with Linux, then AmigaOS 4 was shipped.

Sam460 didn't have all the needed AmigaOS 4 drivers at the beginning.

The AmigaOne X1000 also lacks some on-board drivers for AmigaOS 4.

On the other hand, cheap entry level hardware will attract more people, which can lead to new software releases.

This was the case with me, when the microAmigaOne was on sale back in 2004. I wasn't able to afford SE or XE AmigaOne, but the microAmigaOne was fine with me and I bought one and eventually ported my AmigaOS 3 software to AmigaOS 4.

My Dell laptop broke again for 4th time for two months and is in repair shop again. So I am again Amiga only. I easily will sell the laptop for an Amiga netbook.

If you want a tablet that badly, you could also settle down for a $50,-- Android and keep money for the netbook

@Amiga_3k

I strongly advise against a cheap Android tablet. Not very good user experience.

True, but this should no longer be practice. Brings much pain and waiting to get basic hardware working. SAM460 doesn`t have sound driver and 3D for RadeonHD even today.

Since there is high end Amiga now, OS 4.2 should be absolute priority and next thing clearly should be low end machine. But don`t forget even its "cheap Lime PC"
it needs WiFi and camera drivers, new gfx chip support (PowerVR) etc.

Any news worthy of release would be released here in the News section, or on the relevant sites. As there hasn't been any posted, I'd just wait a while longer.

Okay... For reading PDF it should be sufficient. However, I guess that at half the price of an iPad one can pick up an Android tablet with comparable performance.

@Amiga_3k

A bit daft to reply to myself. But what was I thinking? This is an Amiga site so over here it's rather common to pay more for taste. So, I should correct my self and only state that I can't (or won't) see any good reason to pay the price-premium for an Apple over an equal specced Android tablet. Said that, when the Amiga netbook becomes available I'll get one, even while knowing that for the same money a more powerfull Android or Windows device is available. How complicated can I be?

lol.
@others
the sound drivers have been out for the 460 for ages.

The info we have on the netbook for quite some time is that its booting into wb.

@Flystone

Are all netbooks made in China/Asia under the usual Apple-like factories, which tend to exploit their assembly workers? I'm excited about the Amiga netbook idea, but I'm on a crusade to NOT buy anything assembled in China unless there are 3rd-party human rights-promoting organizations (such as Verite) overseeing and working with the factories.
