Today I downloaded the MOS version of Battle for the Wesnoth v1.8.0 and well after unpack the files and click in the star icon and no start the game, I clicked in the executable but only i opens an Ambient Output Window with this message:
Started on dom may 5 17:46:42 2013
Automatically found a possible data directory at Ocio:Juegos/wesnoth-1.8
but nothign more only the system CPU usage arrives to top but the game no runs, I clicled several times, I reset the system and neither.
Where is the problem? because the OS4 version always runs perfect.

PowerSDL has had big changes recently, sadly this also means new problems, all of which haven't yet been fixed.

You could try with older PowerSDL if that helps.

There can also be problems with games that want fullscreen on PowerBook.

You can also use Snoopium to figure out where it goes wrong.

There's no problem, it works fine, even with powersdl 16.0. Just make sure you have all required libraries (check with snoopium if you need).
From what i remember, it requires intl.library and iconv.library. Get them from aminet (morphos versions).

Actually, it's just because a big ttf font was included (to handle arabic, japanese,...) that takes ages to be indexed by fontconfig.
It can be removed from the fonts directory to avoid this long first startup delay.

Yes, the game when makes the cache after of 15 minutes or more works perfect, only that now it has problems with the enviroment sounds, I tryed to change the frecuency but nothing, and only with these sounds have noises, because with music, turn bell there aren't these problems.

I found other problem as the game was compiled with old SDL library it has problems with the current 16.x, it will be possible recompile for the new version, because besides of sound problems with noises, sometime the game is freeze.

You could avoid this 15 minutes wait by removing the font i referred to. Anyway it's done.

As for your sound issues, i don't have any of this here. Check your archive is not corrupted.

Oh, and there's no reason to recompile Wesnoth for a newer sdl library, since it's a shared library. If Wesnoth has issues with current powersdl, then powersdl should be fixed.
For the record, i have completed all campaigns with this Wesnoth version (with powersdl 14, at least, but it seems to work fine with 16.x as well, anyway).

Thanks, I hadn't the problem the 15 minutes waiting to star the game, only was the first time, I'll check the sound problem, to copyng from OS4 version, because from the Windos version, hum, perpahs it gives problems for quality and other things.

Err, copying from Windows or OS4 version? What did you do exactly?

Just use the files supplied with the archive, especially since I fixed a couple of unix relative paths in their data files.

Well, I think that problems are for the MacMini, this fantastic Apple computer (only for Internet) when it has much heat the CPU is 100% the fan cooler runs its higt speed, in this point the game do strange things, noises, the board game jump from up to down, visual miustakes, slow pieces moves, etc., when you load the previus save game the game is freeze and I have reboot the system, well, a hell, and all for the Mini here is the problem for me, well, I play to this game under Windos or OS4, and the MacMini only to browse and play to single games.
Thanks for your help.
