| @phoenixkonsole The safest solution would be to "install" it in live mode straight to another usb-stick. _________________ AROS Broadway - AEROS - Aminux - AmiCloud - indieGO! Appstore - AmiWallet - VAN lossless video codec - AMC Amiga media Center -KrypUnite - LibertyNet - MinX - amigaNX |

After many unfortunate attempts to download the file (internet connection down etc.), i finally managed to install AEROS with success. It's impressive how responsive it is although there are minor issues such as:
-dragging the window around or resizing it, is rather slow and sometimes difficult to achieve -i couldn't manage to install AEROS on a 4gb SD card cause it complained that there was no space on it (while the card was empty and formatted)
I didn't have the time to play around with it much but i'll give it a shot tonight, testing internet and applications.
At first sight it looks promising and makes the R-pi even more useful. _________________ Vanilla A500 NOS A1200 (Powered by V1200, CoffinOS r.58) PowerMac beast, MorphOS 3.15 (registered) |

Hi,
thanks for testing. I am offering now a service to burn it to 8GB sd-card on ebay. If there is interest.
The 250GB/day traffic limit has been reached and the download is blocked now. I need to move some other stuff from my webspace with unlimited traffic.
Question: Could you live without decorations? This means window boraders will look like AOS3.x.
Without decoaration it is a bit faster.
@Havie Donwload will work Saturday again. Last edited by phoenixkonsole on 12-Jun-2013 at 09:47 AM.

| Today i fixed the last image... lx was broken. Also i reduced the boot-times to 2/3 of the last image. As far as i know it boots now as fast as AmigaOS 4.x on the X1000 ; )
I will reorganize webspace asap (still need room for other thing also benefical for AOS4 and MOS). Alternatively you can use this service:
AEROS for Pi sd-card delivery service
It is transparent.. you can see how much are sold. The idea is to reuse money for ARM related bounties. Especially native AROS apps are needed to replace Linux stuff wherever possible.
MESA supports the Adreno A220 gpu's, so this would be a possible target for HostGL and a possible base for a ARM based desktop unit.
Alternatively a ARM system with PCI(e) could be the solution.
I will prepare a speed comparison of the last image to the one i have finished today.
For PI there is still 20% more performance possible... coming next. _________________ AROS Broadway - AEROS - Aminux - AmiCloud - indieGO! Appstore - AmiWallet - VAN lossless video codec - AMC Amiga media Center -KrypUnite - LibertyNet - MinX - amigaNX |

I am just back from two weeks holiday so I have not had access to my Raspberry Pi so could not have tested your new distro for you, but if you are looking for testers in the future I would be happy to help _________________ Sam440ep 667mhz, 512MB, 120GB 2.5" HD, OS4.1FE WinUae 3.0.0, OS 3.9, BB3, Catweasel MkIV Amiga 1200, Blizzard 040/40 (BlizzardPPC 060/200 with SCSI removed at present), mediatorSX pci, Voodoo3, PCI network card os 3.9BB2 4MB Minimig with ARM addon boar |

From my own testing of AROS hosted I can also say that resizing windows feels a lot snappier if you start AROS from a console rather than under X-Windows.
But if I am correct about how works AEROS needs X running to run Linux Windowed applications from under AROS, so running AROS that way may not be much use in this case. Still its worth a try to see the speed difference for graphics operations._________________ Sam440ep 667mhz, 512MB, 120GB 2.5" HD, OS4.1FE WinUae 3.0.0, OS 3.9, BB3, Catweasel MkIV Amiga 1200, Blizzard 040/40 (BlizzardPPC 060/200 with SCSI removed at present), mediatorSX pci, Voodoo3, PCI network card os 3.9BB2 4MB Minimig with ARM addon boar |
