remove the backgrounds and texturing wherever its set. its unpractical, does not contribute to readibility especially on low color screens, and is plain ugly for most parts. you might even remove the supplied grahics.

you may introduce/replace them by few sleak simple aros related backgrounds.

remove the texture from the status bar in the low section of window. check if the popup help speech buble isnt textured.

the question is if you primarly address it at people with or without rtg.

if rtg you may make your small choice of games and demos from aros cotributions, but itwill not all work with aga. i would need to check what is reasonable. give me some time.

besides i have discovered, aros doesnt boot from internal ide on my a4k any more, which confirms reports of people who tried to run it. very unfortunate. just wrote about it to toni and jason. this has to be sorted out before you release, it doesnt make sense otherwise.

I want to adress people with and without RTG because many only use plain classic systems with turbocard. So it just makes sense if it work on both. Keep me informed regarding the error and when it works again. I will all prepare before.

damn have just clicked away a long post, this forum makes me mad!

best to have lowest demands possible rtg is an option. include few demos from extras/demos, perhaps few games, the palette trashing must be fixed, as they open own screen on aga but i asked toni already.

you should include most important tools, snoopdos, scout, dopus4 or 5, frying pan, as soon the issue with ide has been fixed. perhaps ppaint as it scales well between aga and rtg or what you consider best. but put it all what is genuine amiga and need not to be updated into optional contribution download. it can be as big as you want. just keep the updatable aros core slick.

i have started to edit the ugly gadgets, they really look alien and show up even if decoration is off. i dont get it why they have to be citchy full color images of at least 20 pixel width. 8x8 in two colors and mask is good enough, work on all resolutions and takes not the valuable space. besides it looks much better. i must ask toni to implement alpha as 100% color mask on planar next. perhaps i will even finisht the skin, but thats not a priority.
