I have just uploaded AROS Vision 1.5.9. One of the main topics is full CD-Support including automounting of CDs, playing Music-CDs (MUI CD Player), Video can be played with ffplay or mplayer (the only missing thing is CD32 emulation). Further additions are FAT95, TwinVNC, Mr. Beanbag, a couple of music player and backup-tools. Amistart-menues are extended.

the download-link:
http://www.natami-news.de/html/distribution_download.html

the manual:
http://www.natami-news.de/html/user_manual.html

Below are two pictures, the first showing MUI CD Player playing Music from CD and the second a screenshot of a movie running with Mplayer (68k, 1.0)

@OlafS25

Hi Olaf!
Cool images, just one tiny thing, please? "Images embedded in threads should be no wider than 640 pixels, larger images should be hyperlinked." Will you please fix it?

I bet you can do that all by yourself, but if you'd like me to do it for you, I'll resize and email it to you. Just let me know.

Kind regards, Yo

Yep, i will check if lx68 is working.
On the 1GHZ machine it is sluggish compared to AmigaOS3.9 but OS3.9 has none of those bells and whistles.. i assume on a 1.6GHZ machine it would fly.

Do we have something like asyncwb on AROS? Accessing drives slows down noticeable. At least on this underpowered device ; )

do you have included uae_...=8192 I sent you to activate JIT already?

No I do not think we have something like that.

@phoenixkonsole

yes aros is very sluggish in comparison to 3.x, hopefully the profiling effort will bring some improvements. its still one of the main issues when substituting the system on real hardware.

@Olaf
yes JIT is enabled and the stars screensaver flies. The mousepointer gets slow as soon i open a drawer or during boot when Amistart is loaded.

Switching from 1080p to something less now : )
1024x600 is much better. (again: i am using only 1GHZ c60! Even a P4 1GHZ is faster)

@wawa
Is SCALOS better than wanderer? not from features, i mean performance.

@phoenixkonsole

one thing I forgot. Preinstalled is Wanderer but you can f.e. use Scalos by using another startup-sequence (included). The only issue was that it not booted correctly with JIT on WinUAE (have not tested it with JIT and FS-UAE)

have not got it to work dependably. if it loads, soon its getst even slower as wanderer, stuck as if busy looping somewhere. i have not tested lately so hard to say how is this now.
