I found an old thread regarding this topic and yesterday I DLed the latest ISO from nightly builds, dated 2012-04-10 just to see how it performs.
I have the latest Icaros Desktop installed in virtual environment (an old ACER Aspire) and it`s really great.

The Sam version loads up to the OS selection (2 existing versions), and both fail after the progress bar completes loading the kickstart.
Any news on that? What is the latest working ISO?

I'm not sure the staus of the sam440 port of AROS I think it might have been abandoned. However I know Jason was talking about bringing all the PPC ports back to life.

Last time I tried it, it just locked the machine up while booting off the CD.

Jason McMullan has been working on Sam native ports of AROS, but hasn't commented much publicly on it as far as I know.
