| I like to make a suggestion.
I've noticed more and more posts from inquisitive ex amiga users and from people just interested in the A1 and OS4.
If as i hope the interest in OS4/A1 will grow with the word being spread by non amiga sites (like the recent review of the microA1 and OS4) i think we need to make it easier for them to get info.
Another reason for making it easier for people interested in the A1/OS4 is that they maybe put off seeing posts about hardware problems (UDMA USB etc). There needs to be clarity and honesty about what they might be getting into.
So my suggetions are:
A small button "A1/OS4 faq" perhaps A link within the faq to intuitionbase.com A link within the faq to the screenshots of OS4 A list of problems and fixes with the amigaone's And anything else that would make their minds up and take the plunge.
Also thinking about it, after they have purchased their A1 maybe there should be a button "new OS4 users" a guide for new OS4 users. What to install and setup to get the best out of there new systems.
What i am trying to say is that even though amigaworld is a friendly and nice place to visit people genrally dont want to search through forums to find answers to their questions (eg whats this UDMA problem then?). They may loose interest and move onto something else.
If anyone else can think of usefull info to push these interested people over the edge and buy an amigaone then please add your ideas.

On my old site, I had a big red "help for ex amigans" panic button in the corner, with a couple of pages of information on what's happened to the platform and links to AW.net, intuitionbase etc. IMO its a great idea.
BTW do I get a prize for getting into here?  _________________

Oops just realised sorry, well now you have all past my little test are there any other ideas to add?
I really think as amiga is coming out of the darkness people with the right PR skills could help capitalise on the growing interest in the A1/OS4. (3000 reg users now on amigaworld and reported increased site traffic)
I myself had an idea as i watched the gadget show on channel 5, maybe i could send them an email about the amigaone and see if they wanted to review it. Thankfully i came to my senses obviously they would rip it apart and no good PR would come of it, and lets face it channel five have the same audience figures as there are amiga users still out there.
Again sorry for the missing subject, i dont post that often and just missed it out.

I know exactly what you mean. The info is out there but people have to look in a few different places to get answers.

Yes i agree at the moment from the outside there is very little to link the A1/OS4 to the main partners.
People from outside expect to find info on the main partner sites directly, i would assume peoples interest would fall off quickly when they struggle to find it.
And it has been said before, where is KMOS in all this?

Yes, people do quickly lose interest, and the OS is still incomplete, and they DON'T want to dig through 42* threads for answers.
Who would even have the slightest CHANCE of knowing about that voltage problem, when you put more ram in??
We need that concise, 3 or 4 HTML pages, briefly outlining timeline, product, specs, faults, and important/useful dockies/utils/commodities, that should be considered immediately, after AOS4.0 is installed.
We (some) as users are treating this as a hobby, and It's as though the companies involved are TOO!
I know that this is/will be a fully complete Operating System capable of anything, and due to limitaions that the other OS' suffer from, will achive way more than the others can.
AmigaOne! AOS4.0! How long before you realize, this is the platform you've been looking for?

It would be ideal if someone with PR skills or experiance in the advertising industry could produce something to hook these individuals into the new amiga world.
Realisticaly there probably isn't someone with these skills within the amiga community at the moment. So i wonder how many curious visitors WE lose?
And it seems even i cant keep up with the A1 info, i've not heard about the voltage problem when you put more ram in and i try to read the forums atleast every couple of days. What chance would a newbie have?
Just think if one of these curious visitors started to stumble over such problems whilst scouring the forums for information. If we are open and clear about problems upfront then people will be more considerate when making their choice to join us. (oh dear it's starting to sound like brainwashing for some sort of cult).
